Sol Flora is taking a pause while I transition into this next season of creativity through motherhood. As always, I seek to align with what is in season, including in my own life rhythm, so that Sol Flora projects can remain connected, joyful, & vibrant expressions of local beauty & love. 🌞 💕 🌼 I will miss the flowers for now, but look forward to returning when the time is right!

Winter Solstice comes tomorrow! Last year, this wedding was a few days before the solstice, and I will celebrate similarly this year… with candles, seasonal fruit, and movement. What an aligned time to reflect on the joys of the past year and our hopes for creating in the next!

Yesterday marked the Winter Solstice. To savor the shift, I walked in the snow, reveled in that 4:20 pm sunset, burned so many candles, met my friend’s new puppy, enjoyed others’ Christmas lights, & began to dream up ways to reset for next year. Did you mark the day? If so, how?

Maybe it’s the Fall Equinox that has me looking back, feeling extra reflective & grateful. Maybe it’s the fact that I realized my little team & I just did the flowers for wedding #15 yesterday. Each couple, each venue, each color scheme is memorable in its beauty & connection. Little pockets of light in the midst of life’s many ups & downs. Reflecting on the PROCESS: Today, time melted as I arranged a centerpiece for tomorrow’s sweetheart table. Not knowing how the ingredients would sing together, yet there was flow in the process of exploring & moving through the uncertainty with full presence. ➡️ There are many days that the logistics of floral design, the 4 am wake up calls on market days, & the endless details can drain me. But it’s moments like the slow time today that keep me loving this creative work.
