That’s exactly the vision of Tim Sparks, president of a company that operates over 90 Pizza Hut locations. He’s on a mission to rebuild more than 80 of them in the style of the 1980s and 1990s, bringing back the salad bars, big red plastic cups, and iconic décor that made the chain a staple of family outings.

For Sparks, this revival is about more than nostalgia. In a world dominated by screens, he hopes these retro restaurants will encourage families to put their phones down and reconnect with each other over a shared meal. Tracking down original pieces—especially the famous lamps—has been challenging, but Sparks is committed to making it happen. The effort is paying off: some customers reportedly drive hours just to relive the experience of sitting in one of those red booths.
