Asher Ridge Gathering Barn

Asher Ridge Gathering Barn A place where friends, family and loved ones can come together and celebrate.

We want to take a moment to speak openly and honestly with you.

As of today, there is still nothing officially open at Asher Ridge Gathering Barn. That’s not where we expected to be at this point, and we know many of you have been asking questions, checking in, and wondering what’s happening behind the scenes.

The reality is this: we are navigating requirements and expectations that are being asked of us that many people — including professionals who regularly work with event spaces and barn venues — have said they’ve never seen applied in this way to similar properties. We’ve listened. We’ve adapted. We’ve revised plans. We’ve invested significant time, energy, and resources to respond thoughtfully and responsibly. And despite all of that effort, we’ve still found ourselves at a standstill.

That has been discouraging. It’s hard to keep momentum when you continue to do what’s asked, only to be met with more uncertainty and no clear path forward. We won’t pretend that hasn’t taken a toll.

But here’s what hasn’t changed.

We still believe deeply that an event and gathering space in west rural Rock County is not only appropriate — it’s needed. We believe there is value in having a place close to home where families can celebrate weddings, anniversaries, milestones, and meaningful moments without having to leave the community they love. A place that respects the land, honors the rural setting, and adds something positive rather than taking away.

We also believe that Asher Ridge Gathering Barn can be that place.

This has never been about rushing or cutting corners. From the beginning, our goal has been to do things the right way — to listen, to comply, to be good stewards of the property and thoughtful neighbors within the community. Even when progress feels slow or stalled, that commitment remains.

We are not giving up.

We’re continuing to have conversations, explore options, and advocate for a solution that allows this vision to move forward. While we don’t yet have clear answers or timelines to share, please know that the work is still happening, even when it’s not visible.

Thank you for your patience, your encouragement, and the many messages reminding us why this matters. Your support has meant more than you know. Asher Ridge Gathering Barn is still very much alive in our hearts and plans — and we believe that when the doors do open, the journey to get there will have been worth it 🤍

More to come, and thank you for continuing to walk alongside us

We’ve been quiet lately, but we feel it’s time to share where things stand.
For the past four years, we’ve been working through a long, complicated local and state review process — and to be honest, it hasn’t been easy. Although we have hosted a few private, family-only events here at Asher Ridge Gathering Barn, we have never been open for public rentals.

Unfortunately, every time we think we’re making progress, another roadblock appears. If there’s a hurdle to hit, trust us — we’ve hit it.
The hardest part is knowing, from conversations with so many in our community and local area, just how welcomed and needed a gathering space like Asher Ridge Gathering Barn would be. We truly believe it would be an incredible asset for our neighbors and friends.

The hurdles we are encountering aren’t due to lack of support — they stem from a lack of a clear, formal process for barn event venues like ours. We are navigating uncharted territory, and that has made every step forward far more complicated and exhausting than we ever expected.

This journey has been deeply wearing and emotionally draining, but we want you to know: we are not giving up yet.
The dream we have for this place, and the heart behind it, are too important to let go of without a fight. Thank you for standing with us, supporting us, and understanding the struggles we’re facing behind the scenes.

If you have any insight, connections, or ideas that could help move this process forward, we would love to hear from you. Please feel free to message us directly. Every little bit of help means more than you know. Wisconsin Agricultural Tourism Association

We’ll continue to keep you updated as we move forward — however slowly that might be. Your encouragement means the world.

As of right now, we are only allowed to host our own private events at Asher Ridge while we continue to wait for our approval from state and local authorities. We are still working very hard to receive the approval we need to open to the public.

In the meantime, we hosted a beautiful September wedding for my brother a couple of weeks ago and it was absolutely wonderful!

While we wait for the go ahead to officially open for business, we are continuing to get projects done.

Thank you, Dan, for taking the time out of your night to come and plant new trees for our future outdoor ceremony space!

Your assistant was pretty sweet, too! 😊

Things have been rather quiet at Asher Ridge lately, with everyone waiting for the green light from local and state officials to fully open and operate. But yesterday was an exception, as friends and family gathered to celebrate Zach & Alison taking the first steps in their new journey together. Congratulations!

As we continue our journey with the gathering barn, one of our major investments was in redoing the floor. It needed some serious attention to create a floor that would make people stop and say “wow.” Here is before, during and finished!

Over the last few months we have been debating on the way we want things to look and we keep coming back to rustic. So we spent the evening driving to a suburb of Chicago and loaded up 140 mismatch woooden chairs to use in the venue. We will still be looking for more so if you know anyone getting rid of any 😉
