Clients and Friends,

After more than three years of attempting to keep this business going while enduring stage iv colon cancer, making sure both my family *and* my clients are happy, and publishing my debut novel for kids, teens and families, it's become obvious that it's time to semi-retire from photography.

I have loved capturing your families over the years. I've developed true, lasting friendships with several of you. I have loved every laugh, cry, hug and tantrum. Capturing your real-life memories has brought so much joy and purpose...but always with the setback of being pulled in too many directions, losing significant profit, and perhaps even idolizing photography itself, rather than letting it just be something I do.

All this said, if you're a family I've photographed for years, I'm still more than willing to do a session for you. And, if you're a business that needs an event captured, I'd love to be available for you as well. Especially if it involves horses 😉.

For now, I am focusing on healing my body and surviving cancer, being with and supporting my husband and kids, publishing my novel, and working as the literacy lead for an up and coming homeschool curriculum company.

If you have any questions, I'm an open book. And, if you're a repeat family and would like to set up a session for 2026, please reach out as soon as possible. If you're interested in purchasing my landscape prints, I have those available on Etsy, but you can reach out to me personally as well.

Last minute idea!

Valentines Day Minis, next Sunday, February 9th from 1-3pm at Studio 3505 in Howell. *Remember, I do not typically offer staged minis anymore! I will only offer these as an option one other time this year for Mother's Day.*

If you're interested, please let me know asap! I can only book the studio if I have at least 5 families. Right now I have two! If I don't get enough interest, they will close the studio for that day.

The sessions are $150, 15 minutes and include 5-10 edited images in an online gallery.

I haven't made a yearly re-cap video since 2019. But, this year, though I lost several clients due to my cancer and other reasons, I had more than DOUBLE the sessions because so many other families chose to continue to support me as I heal from stage iv colon cancer, *and* I met many new families.

The vast majority of my sessions were documentary, and as you'll see from the video below, the photos bring so much joy and genuine connection it truly makes my heart melt. I plan to continue being a real life, documentary photographer in 2025 and offering new ideas for family packages so that memories are never wasted.

Because, as I know now more than I ever have before, it is so important to hold onto every smile, tear, laugh and scream. Every single one of them mean something, and are worth everything.

Today, I chose to fight bad news, literally, and ended up earning my yellow stripe. Ironically, I haven’t felt this alive in a long, long time. And I think that bodes well for my future.
