This semester, STEAD’s Music Technology & Production class (STEAD Studios) is partnering with Money Gang Entertainment (MGE), an independent music company based in Denver that supports hip-hop and trap artists across multiple states. One of MGE's leaders is Chris Strable, a STEAD parent who has been a Record Executive at Money Gang Entertainment LLC since April 2021.
What makes this partnership unique is that it introduces real music industry professionals into our learning environment. Chris will bring in various artists and songwriters, including Stevie Stone (signed with Tech N9ne from 2011–2021), along with some of MGE's top sound engineers and marketing experts. Students will have the opportunity to see what the "business side" of music entails, not just the creative side.
Students will learn how music is created, recorded, refined, and marketed in a professional context. By the end of the semester, we aim to release our first student tracks on major platforms like Spotify and Apple Music, and eventually drop the first-ever STEAD Studio album.
Long-term, we hope this helps students who discover a passion for the industry take next steps, like festival work opportunities along the Front Range or internships with professional studios beyond STEAD.
Come see STEAD’s music studio at our Open House on January 31 from 9 a.m.-5 p.m.!
