How lucky are we to have such beautiful ingredients all around us ?
Something about putting this lil’ gnudi together brought me so much happiness. There’s always a tale to tell when it comes to food. A delicious bite that sparks memory , a smell that instantly takes you back to a kitchen you once loved , or a thought provoking lil’ dumpling that takes you back in time.
I started the morning in my kitchen with a text to a mentor of mine , as I made his recipe for ricotta gnudi. I spent a few years in his kitchen , mostly terrified , always learning. 20 years later , it’s still comforting that he’s only a text away!
This gnudi is now a gnudi I have for my recipe book, tweaked and tailored to the ingredients of Montana , grown by new mentor and friends , and goats milk ricotta made by - how cool?
Last night we cooked this gnudi over fire , in cast iron pans , with Smokey chicken , and summer squash! What a night.
