Shonny + Liberty

Last year, Shonny was over at a friend’s for dinner, but told him that he couldn’t stay long because he had met this girl and he wanted to go see her.

A short time later, he went back over to that friend’s house and told them, “I think I’ve found the one.”

In step with Liberty’s name and Shonny’s love of flying, they celebrated their wedding on the 4th of July at a private hangar at the Sturgis airport, complete with a post-ceremony flight in Shonny’s plane and a fireworks show.

Shonny and Liberty, you guys were an absolute joy to work with! Thank you for asking us to be a part of your day!

Nick + Destiny

Nick first moved out to the Hills to attend . During his years on campus, he fell in love with the area and knew he wanted to call the Hills home for good. He headed back East River to finish his degree, and that’s where he ended up working with Destiny’s mom at a hospital, where she made her first attempt at playing matchmaker.

In the middle of Nick working a double shift, Destiny joined her mom on an errand to the hospital, and Nick’s unfortunate exhausted first reaction was “nice to meet you” then walked away.

Realizing his mistake, he approached Destiny’s mom a short time later with an apology and asked if he could have Destiny’s number.

Fast forward to today. Nick got both of his wishes. He now gets to call Destiny his wife and they call the Black Hills home.

Nick and Destiny, thank you for asking us to be a part of your day!

“Trevor who?” This, allegedly, was the first text Katilyn ever sent to Trevor nine years ago. Trevor convinced her to join him at the lake and, as they say, the rest is history.

We love being a part of destination weddings! Trevor and Kaitlyn are from northeastern Colorado but chose the Black Hills for their big day. We strive to take as much stress off of each and every couple we have the honor of working with. It’s even more amplified when they are planning from afar.

Brandon and Taylor met through soccer in high school and have been together ever since. Yesterday, on the day of their 13-year anniversary, they made their commitment officially permanent.

Dalton + Shelby

Shelby is an East River girl. Dalton grew up on a ranch on the high plains of northwestern South Dakota. Life brought them both to Sioux Falls where they met by chance at a downtown bar.

Shortly after meeting Shelby, Dalton called his dad and admitted to him: “I wasn’t planning on meeting anyone.” His dad, in his wisdom, responded: “Sometimes God puts people in our lives at the most unexpected times.”

A couple of years ago, Matt moved from his home state of Washington to Omaha to be closer to a girl named Dani.

General advice says you probably shouldn’t move for a girl, especially if that move is halfway across the country.

Matt did it anyway, and as Maid of Honor Krista pointed out in her toast, his move to follow “a” girl turned into a move to be with “the” girl.

They met at Summer Nights in Rapid City and quickly grew fond of each other during the Covid shut down, as they got to spend a significant amount of time together.

They both enjoyed traveling together and one day, while visiting an apple orchard, Cory proposed.

Fast forward to today, where they are dancing in front of all of their friends and family, enjoying a night for the ages. ❤️
