Little Me Studio is Kankakee County’s premier children’s activity space offering amazing materials-based and developmentally appropriate children's art enrichment classes and camps for ages 9 months to 12 years. Our most sought after program - Preschool Transition - is a 2-hour class utilizing a "whole child" approach focusing on preschool readiness skills such as: - self care (independent toileti

ng and opening lunch materials) - communicating their needs - attention and concentration - play and social skills (taking turns, sharing) - following directions (walking feet, inside voices) - adjusting to a routine - separation from primary caregiver. This play-based program is a great first place to start and a wonderful stepping stone to your child's full-time educational endeavor. Our Montessori Pre-Primary Program introduces children age 4-6 (3 y/o with instructor approval) to the Montessori Method, focusing on the development of the whole child ~ intellectual, social/emotional, and physical ~ through directed and independent hands-on learning opportunities and by supporting their individual interests and ability levels while strengthening motivation, promoting attention, and encouraging responsibility. Our all-inclusive art birthday parties are famously fun for the birthday child and guests and super convenient for parents! Simply pick a theme, select an activity and number of guests and we will take care of the rest! We set up, provide instruction, and clean up so all you have to do is sit back and enjoy the fun.

Sorry, cuties - we've made the decision to close the studio tomorrow due to the predicted severe cold. There will be no classes, field trips or drop-in art on January 23, 2026.

We will resume our regular hours on Saturday, January 24th with Open Studio 10:00am-2:00pm.

When I saw that vintage cake decorating is trending as an adult "granny craft" you know I dropped everything and texted Dylan at Cakes & Goodies and threw down the invitation to come give y'all a workshop. He said, don't call it a "workshop" - tell people we're going to hang out and have a good time while I teach them some stuff - like a cake decorating party!!

We have preschool process art stations and a menu of art projects for big kids to choose from, including:

- Painting & Mixed Media Projects
- Wearable & Accessory Projects
- Sensory & Play Projects
- Decor & Keepsake Projects

We're here from 10am-2pm but please arrive no later than 1 o'clock so you'll have at least an hour to create!

This week at Messy Makers, our theme is Peace, Love & Inclusivity in honor of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. 💛✌️

Little hands explored big ideas by...
• Coloring heart hands with markers and crayons, finished with paper punches and stamps
• Creating spin art peace signs ☮️ in the salad spinner using droppers (hello pincer grasp practice!)
• Threading pasta and collaging fabric onto the most awesome freedom bells

And of course, the dough table, water table, rice table, and light table were all big-time hits too!

Our Story

Little Me Studio is Kankakee County’s 1st DIY facility offering creative art classes & workshops, music & movement classes, yoga for kids, STEM classes, super-fun, personalized private birthday parties and more! We are located in beautiful Bourbonnais, Illinois across from Olivet Nazarene University. Covid-19 Update: Now, perhaps more than ever before, our children need thoughtful, creative outlets to express their feelings and emotions, and while we would LOVE to have you all back in the studio getting messy and hanging out with us, we know that's not going to be possible for awhile.
