Hi, I’m Danai 👋 founder of Todo Bien Flower Truck.

To be honest, this whole thing started as a happiness project. I was looking to spark more joy and create alignment in my life, and what I discovered pretty quickly is that joy isn’t something you find alone. You cultivate it by sharing it with others. Creating joy for (and with) other people IS the joy!

I’ve wanted to own a vintage pickup truck my whole life. Growing up driving my Papa’s old white Ford, “Pearl” — my 1963 GMC — is a literal dream come true. ✨ I get thumbs up and smiles driving down the street. And I feel like it’s the “universe’s way” of letting me know this dream gets a green light… because I’m igniting happiness and the imaginations of others, too.

I have a background in sustainable agriculture and a master’s degree to go with it, so supporting local flower farmers and prioritizing responsible growing practices isn’t just good business, it feels personal.

Just like flowers, I’ve realized I don’t “need” much. Neither does a vintage pick up truck with a couple of buttons and k***s. No screens. No algorithms. Simplicity in being present and only offering what’s essential, no excess.

That’s what flowers do, too. They slow people down. They start conversations, in real time, with real people (yay, eye contact!). They bring people together in the most effortless way.

Todo Bien means all good — and that’s the energy I try to bring to every pop-up, every event, every bouquet bar.

This world is maddening, and it’s hard to know where to start. But we can’t give up. Even the smallest act of kindness ripples out farther than we can see.

After another school shooting in Colorado, friends’ kids on lockdown, and then my own daughter’s school on a secure alert… I had enough. Enough of feeling numb and just saying “how horrible” while watching it happen on my phone.

Yesterday, I saw hundreds of kids protesting for a safe learning environment. Their human rights should matter more than the rights of an inanimate object…

This was my last farmers market of the season. In under six months, we’ve built a community of regulars and local supporters. I’m honored and wanted to give back. Friends came from near and far to hug, buy flowers, and support the cause. Strangers posted our sign on social media and people drove across town to see us. We sold out of flowers.

One visitor was the head of the Colorado chapter of Moms Demand Action . She thanked me and explained that donating proceeds to the local chapter would multiply the impact.

Because of all of you, all profits from today’s sale will go to Colorado’s chapter of Moms Demand Action, for gun sense in America. If you couldn’t make it but want to keep this energy going, your support is welcome. Our kids need us. Protect our kids, not guns.

For carrying the unseen weight so we can carry home a bouquet.

Hi! I’m Danai, owner and founder of Todo Bien Flower Truck. Hopping on here to go a little deeper for those already following this journey — and to say hi and introduce myself to anyone who doesn’t know me yet!

This whole thing started as a happiness project — a way to bring a little more joy to your day, whether that’s through a bouquet, a reel, or a flower truck rolling through town with music and sunshine and petals spilling out the back.

I’m a mother, a farmer, a master’s student studying agriculture and food systems — and I care deeply about local farmers and resource security. That’s why I only source locally grown blooms. Because flowers, like food, should support our land, our people, and our communities.

Sometimes people ask, “Why are your flowers more expensive?” And that’s fair. But here’s what I wish more people knew:

Those grocery store bouquets? They’re loss leaders. Big corporations can afford to sell them cheap because you’re also buying snacks and supplements that make them rich. Your local flower farmer or florist? We can’t even buy wholesale at the prices you see at checkout.

We spend time driving to farms. Using gas. Buying business licenses, sales licenses. Or we’re out harvesting them ourselves — in 95° heat, neck-deep in yarrow, chasing the light before it fades. That’s time. And time is labor. And labor is a business expense. If you clocked in and worked those hours somewhere else, wouldn’t you expect to get paid? Hell yeah you would!

Our work involves driving to farms or harvesting in the heat, processing flowers by hand — pruning, trimming, hydrating, cleaning bugs — using buckets, tools, coolers, gas. That’s all labor and time.

Then we design every single bouquet by hand — with love, intention, and a fair wage — because we’re humans, not machines. Your bouquet isn’t just a product. It’s a service of love and labor.

So here’s a behind-the-scenes peek: me, neck-deep in yarrow, sweaty and sun-kissed, prepping joy for your kitchen table. Thanks for being here.

✨ Kindness goes a long way. ✨

Today I was moved to happy tears by the power of thoughtfulness and generosity.

I brought Pearl to the Louisville Farmers Market, her bed overflowing with flowers. Just across the street, the incredibly talented was selling her art.

What I didn’t realize was that throughout the morning, she had been quietly sketching the scene in front of her — the truck, the umbrella, the flowers.

At the end of the day, while packing up, Hannah was about to toss this beautiful drawing. The fine folks at stepped in and insisted she keep it, then encouraged her to come across the street and gift it to me.

When she did, I cried. It was completely unexpected — a gorgeous piece of art capturing this moment in time. Today was hot and busy, and we sold so many beautiful blooms that are now brightening homes across the city. I feel so grateful.

Thank you, Hannah, and thank you to everyone who shows up with such kindness. I’m honored, truly.
