Get ready for some football! 🏈 The 2026 USA Wheelchair Football League season is almost here, and teams across the country are preparing to hit the field.

Throughout May and June, programs in 15 cities nationwide are hosting tryouts for athletes ready to compete, build skills, and be part of the game. Since 2020, more than 1,200 veterans, athletes with disabilities, coaches, and officials have participated in USA Wheelchair Football League programs, helping grow the sport and community nationwide.

Adaptive Sports New England is hosting Blind Sports Day, a free, fun, and inclusive day of adaptive sports for blind and visually impaired athletes of all ages and experience levels.

Try four sports stations in one afternoon — Rowing, Goalball, Running, and Beep Baseball. Come play one or try them all. No experience necessary.

NH Chronicle coverage on Team USA Sled Hockey w/ Nifty & Tkm at the Salt Lake City Games ...

In 2001, former Boston Bruin Rick Middleton got a call that would lead him somewhere unexpected: behind the bench of Team USA sled hockey.

He and assistant coach Tom Moulton were new to the sport, taking over a team few expected to contend. But at the 2002 Paralympics in Salt Lake City, that group shocked the world and won gold.

Now, their story is being told in the documentary Ice Gold, a look back at the team that helped ignite a new era for USA sled hockey and adaptive sports.
