What if luxury didn’t have to behave?

We’re often told that sophistication means restraint. That to make something feel elevated, you have to smooth out the strange, the playful, or the unexpected.

I disagree.

For this design, I wanted to see whether something wild could be made sophisticated. Not tidied up or tamed, but transformed while staying a little quirky. So I went somewhere unexpected: a chic swamp. Yes, complete with tongue-in-cheek references to Shrek.

The goal was to curate a landscape that felt as though it were slowly reclaiming the table. We layered draped and gathered sage velvet linens for depth and texture, color-drenched place settings, bouncing florals emerging from sculptural mounds of moss, and tealights scattered like fireflies.

The result? Immersive, theatrical, and undeniably luxurious.

Because we don’t believe whimsy and refinement are opposites. In fact, the most memorable designs often live exactly where the two meet.

Kintsugi is the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery with gold ✨

The mend isn’t hidden. It becomes the most beautiful part of the piece.

That philosophy not only shaped this editorial at Four Seasons One Dalton, but also shapes our planning strategy & deisgn process.

We’re not interested in forcing an event into a predetermined mold. We look for the details, histories, personalities, and unexpected moments that make an experience distinctly yours, and then we build from there.

The result is an event that feels considered, layered, and entirely original. Not perfect for perfection’s sake, but meaningful by design.

Inclusive, by design ✨

That line is on our website, but I want to be specific about what it actually means, because inclusion isn't a value you put in a caption. It's a series of decisions.

It means traditions aren't assumed. Who walks in, who stands where, whose family speaks, whether there's a first dance at all, none of that is a template we hand you. We unveil what's right for YOU, and move in that direction.

It means the vendor team is selected carefully & briefed properly, so nobody spends their own wedding day correcting a pronoun or explaining who they are.

It means the timeline reflects your relationship, not a structure built for a different kind of couple. Don't like dancing? how about a gaming hour instead!

Every couple deserves a planning process where they never have to explain themselves 🤍

I've never been interested in creating events that are simply beautiful.

Beautiful is the baseline.

What excites me is designing spaces that make people feel something.

My background in art history, museum experiences, and experiential marketing taught me that every design decision influences human behavior. A room can encourage conversation. A layout can create anticipation. An installation can invite curiosity. A single unexpected detail can become the memory guests carry home.

That's human-centered design.

It's thinking beyond aesthetics and asking how people will experience a space, not just how they'll photograph it.

Because the best events don't just impress people.

They change the way people experience a moment.

That's the work I love most.

If that's the kind of celebration you're after, let's talk ✨

Every design decision we made for Curious by Design came back to one question: How do we make guests feel like they’re inside the creative process, rather than simply admiring the finished result?

The answer was to let the design reveal itself slowly, creating three distinct experiences that unfolded throughout the evening.

Guests first arrived in a light-filled cocktail lounge layered with soft textures and botanical details, a Lemon Bee’s Knees in hand. From there, a drapery-lined passage led them into a room completely saturated in deep indigo - the rich blue of a cyanotype print.

And just when they thought they had seen it all, another curtain opened to reveal a hidden speakeasy bathed in red light, inspired by the darkroom where photographic prints are developed.

Nothing was revealed all at once. The environment asked guests to move, look closer, wonder what was next, and follow the story.

Because a beautiful room asks for your attention. An immersive one asks for your curiosity.

And when design gives people something to discover, they don't just remember what they saw.

They remember what it felt like to be there.

It’s all in the details 😉

Deep autumn jewel tones, color-blocked tablescapes, hand block-printed napkins from India, bold florals with flashes of feathers, a custom movie poster guest book, and a henna-inspired cake to match.

Everything the M&S wanted, and more. Not one detail skipped.

You don't have to live in Boston to get married here.

And if you're bringing your people to New England for your wedding, I think the destination itself should become part of your story.

Boston has so many layers to work with: historic architecture, waterfront settings, intimate restaurants, grand hotels, hidden gardens, cultural institutions, and some genuinely extraordinary spaces that don't look like a wedding venue at all.

My job isn't simply to find you a beautiful place to get married.

It's to help you experience Boston in a way that feels personal to the two of you, and then build a celebration around that sense of place.

For couples traveling here from elsewhere, I'm your local expert, creative director, and production partner on the ground.

You get to arrive and experience the city with your guests.

I'll make sure the world we've imagined is waiting for you when you do.

I believe the most memorable celebrations are the ones that make you feel like you've stepped into another world - one that could only exist for those people, in that place, at that moment.

Long before I became a wedding planner, I was immersed in the worlds of museums, exhibitions, and experiential marketing. Those experiences fundamentally changed the way I think about design.

I don't see an event as a collection of beautiful objects. I see it as a living environment - one that shapes how people move through a space, where they gather, what they discover, and how they connect with one another.

That means thinking beyond the centerpiece or the color palette. It means considering the moment someone walks through the door, what draws them across the room, where they naturally linger, what catches them by surprise, and what makes them want to stay a little longer.

Whether I'm designing a luxury wedding, nonprofit gala, or editorial shoot, my goal isn't simply to create a beautiful room.

It's to create an experience that couldn't exist anywhere else, or for anyone else.

A cohesive design story doesn’t stop at the tablescape.

For Giana & Jay, it found its way into the bouquet, too. 💐

The celebration was designed to feel cozy, romantic, and deeply connected to the historic space around them. We found our design direction in an unexpected but obvious place: the deckled edge of handmade paper.

That imperfect, feathered edge became a recurring detail throughout the design - the softness of sheer chiffon, the scrollwork of the place cards, the raw edge of the stone table numbers and welcome sign.

So naturally, it found its way into the flowers, too.

We designed a loose arrangement of monobloom fringed tulips, tied with raw-edge chiffon ribbon. The feathered petals echoed the torn edge of the stationery. The chiffon repeated the softness found throughout the room.

It’s a small detail, but that’s the point.

The strongest event designs don’t just look beautiful in individual moments. They create a visual language that follows you throughout the experience, and, in this case, all the way into the bride’s hands. 🤍

Luxury has become diluted. We’re here to redefine it.

Luxury isn’t restraint.
It isn’t beige.
It isn’t minimal.
It isn’t making everything look expensive.
It isn’t abundant florals.

Luxury is having the freedom to create something completely your own, and to invest in the expertise & experiences that brings all your decisions full circle.

To hire a designer who can translate your vision.
To weave in thoughtful details that are meaningful to YOU.
To commission custom art from a local artisan.
To invest in the invisible infrastructure of your event.
To turn a room into an immersive experience.

Luxury is the intersection of intentionality & imagination.
