You Don’t Need Every Customer, You Just Need the Right Ones.

Money should never be the only common denominator in your client relationships. It is much more important to have shared values like integrity, a sense of purpose, and equity. As you are signing on new clients, are you getting a sense of their values or just thinking about the potential value they'll contribute to your bank account? If you are getting an intuitive nudge that someone might not be a good fit, listen to it. Trust me – it’s not worth the drama or the dinero if you cringe every time you see their name pop up on your calendar.

Every client relationship will take effort on your part to become successful. Cultivating productive working relationships requires you have clear communication, an organized and systemic approach to running your operation, and a diplomatic demeanor. Choosing clients who are receptive to your way of doing business is the second half of the equation to forming good and lasting relationships. It’s never easy to turn away business, especially if you are in the beginning stages of establishing your business, but think of each client as an investment. A bad investment can do a lot of damage and divert your resources away from the good investments that will help your business grow.

Wedding Tip Wednesday.
Few things to consider before booking an event planner/ designer.
1. Do they offer the perfect solution to your problems or needs in the services their company provides? ( if yes - you are an ideal client)
2. Will the service provided help save you time. ( you don’t have to coordinate between two vendors who do things differently, or who are waiting on each other to complete work. An ideal planner handles that coordination, meaning installation is done in half the time. They also know every facet of the event, so they can communicate on any issues, and you can make quick decisions that don’t delay the results).

3. Will the service provided help you save money. (Time is money, and when your project is completed on time, you stay on budget. Working with an ideal planner means you also save on labor costs with streamlined coordination.

4. How do you relate to them?

Wedding planning is stressful as is, save yourself a headache and choose a company/ planner that sells the solution to your needs.
