September 27th officially marked 9 years of Cocoa Beantown events, a time filled with chocolate tours, tasting events, educational talks, trivia, mingles, pairing experiences, goodie bags, virtual events, festivals, radio and TV appearances, and so much more! As we look ahead on our next milestone year, we are absolutely thrilled to announce a brand new experience for folks to join and share with friends who love chocolate. We’re taking our events INTERNATIONAL in 2027, with our first ever planned chocolate trip to France in early May. This trip package will include an array of curated experiences of not just chocolate but local food, w**e, history, culture, and meeting and making friends with folks who enjoy the same! This event will have limited spots available, so if you’re interested in joining the fun, comment “BONJOUR” on this post and you will be first on the list to receive full details of the trip before we release them to the public next month. Last Friday, Boston’s only dedicated chocolate sommelier, and founder of Cocoa Beantown, Victoria, appeared on GBH News “The Curiosity Desk” with host Edgar B. Herwick III at the Newsfeed Cafe studio at the Boston Public Library . Recently returned from another astonishing trip to Peru with our friends at Cacao Life and Aurelio Loret de Mola | Cacao Life, Victoria guided Edgar through a taste of Peruvian-made craft chocolate, including makers like JUAN LAURA , Elemento Chocolates , and Pumatiy. “The Culture Show” host Jared Bowen event joined at the end, and couldn’t resist a taste of Peru himself. Our Cocoa Beantown chocolate tours highlight some of Boston’s most beautiful neighborhoods, including the Back Bay and South End, bringing groups to a variety of shops and businesses, featuring a delicious array of chocolate treats. But did you know we also have a number of other types of chocolate programming and events that can come to YOU! These include our guided, curated, craft chocolate tasting events for private celebrations, corporate team builders, client reward activities, and family reunion activities. We have educational talks for schools, libraries, summer camps, councils on aging (COAs), assisted living facilities, and food industry enrichment programming. We also have chocolate tasting tables for large scale gatherings, like holiday parties, receptions, cocktail socials, and corporate conferences. Additionally, both the guided tastings and educational talks can be done virtually, meaning our programs can be brought to anyone with internet access! All of these programs have lots of possibilities for customizations, special add-on experiences, demonstrations, and take-aways. Our educational chocolate talks utilize the lens of chocolate to learn about history, geography, world cultures, the environment, science, and more. These programs are designed with schools, libraries, COAs, garden clubs, and assisted living facilities in mind. The goal is always to entertain and educate through chocolate.
