Yesterday, some of the Bossier Arts Council Board of Directors, along with our Executive Director, spent the day with other arts organization leaders for a day of learning with The Institute for Nonprofit Administration & Research - LSUS! In the late 2010s, Lab Rat • Arts and Bossier Arts Council held a popular, recurring art market called "Art Bizarre". The driving force behind the market and artist trading cards was Steve Zihlavsky. Because of Steve, artists were able to connect to collectors, learn to vend their art, and become part of the artist community. Now, the community is giving back to the man who loved it. We are honored to be partnering with Lab Rat • Arts to once again host the "Art Bizarre" art market in honor of the founding artist Steve Zihlavsky, who passed away this July.

Come out Saturday, August 29th to enjoy:
- Local Artist Market
- Pop-up Exhibition and sale of Steve Zihlavsky's art
- Silent Auction of Original Local Art in benefit of Steve's Family
- Live Music by Twang Darkly (Steve's favorite local musicians)
- Artist Trading Card table hosted by the Shreveport Press Education & Art Collective (Make art for free and trade with others)

Create someone else's ARTini Memento at this Friday's Martini Glass Open Paint! 🍸🖌️

We'll be set up inside the Bossier Arts Council with an open paint table full of Martini Glasses in preparation for ARTini 2026: Whimsical Wonderland! Folks are invited to stop by for this FREE Creative Arts activity and kick back, unwind, and paint some glasses with us!

So stop by the Louisiana Boardwalk this August 14th between 5pm and 7pm to express your creativity in a fun, whimsical way!
