Thank you all for our most successful Valentine's Day ever! Our family has operated this business for 65 years, started by my grandfather and grandmother in the 1950s. I used to ride sidekick in the delivery vehicle on Valentine's Day as a teenager and would run the flowers to the door while the driver (often my cousin) kept the vehicle running so we could zoom off to the next stop.

There is always a Valentine story which holds a special place in my heart as I reflect back over all the work family, friends, suppliers, farms, transportation professionals and (very importantly) employees have contributed to make this momentous day a success. This year, the story is about a young man who came to the shop late in the day. He had clearly just finished a long day of work and was looking for something special for his loved one. While he was making his decision, a young woman came in to pick up a cone of flowers for the Veteran's Cemetery for her father. It was both her father's birthday and Valentine's Day. The two customers approached the counter to check out at the same time. As they both reached for their wallets, the young man said to the young woman, "I will pay for that," and turned to my staff and confirmed that he would pay for both his flowers and hers. The young woman was floored, nearly in tears. We had all witnessed the greatest Valentine gift of all...a gift of kindness from one stranger to another.
