Best Ceremony Start Times by Season

One of the most important details when planning your ceremony is choosing the right start time.

If you’re dreaming of those beautiful golden-hour wedding photos, timing is everything. The best time to walk down the aisle is often about 1 to 2 hours before sunset. This allows you to enjoy your ceremony in natural light and gives your photographer the perfect opportunity to capture those romantic sunset portraits afterward.

Keep in mind that sunset times change throughout the year. During the winter months, the sun can set as early as 4:00 PM, while in the summer it may not set until around 8:00 PM.

When planning your wedding day timeline, work backward from sunset. This helps ensure you have ideal lighting for your ceremony, family photos, cocktail hour, and those unforgettable newlywed portraits.

Mixing farm tables and round tables creates a layered, stylish reception design that feels both elegant and welcoming.

One creative detail from this setup was the QR code selfie photo app placed at each table so guests could instantly upload fun moments throughout the night.

The design kept a soft natural palette with eucalyptus greenery, while adding pops of color through the table runners . The combination of textures, earthy tones, and interactive guest experiences made the entire space feel warm, social, and memorable.
