This hat is pretty cool.

But what it represents is even cooler.

A dear friend gifted me a machine they weren’t using anymore, and today I finally sat down to learn it. What seemed like a simple gesture has already opened up a whole new set of possibilities for The Roaming Brim.

There’s something really special about the people who see your dream and quietly hand you a tool to help build it.

Today’s lesson wasn’t just about HTV, rhinestones, or learning a new machine. It was a reminder that businesses aren’t built alone. They’re built by communities, encouragement, generosity, and people who believe in you before you fully believe in yourself.

So here’s to trying new things, learning as you go, and being incredibly thankful for the people who help make it possible. ❤️

And yes… I may now be unstoppable.

There’s just something about Piney River. ✨

Thank you to Piney River Resort for welcoming The Roaming Brim this Memorial Day weekend. From the music and campfires to the river days and custom hats, the whole weekend felt like one big reminder of why we love what we do.

So thankful for everyone who stopped by our booth, supported us, shared a story, or created something with us this weekend.

Some of the best memories start outside.
River water on your feet. Music playing somewhere nearby. Late-night laughs around a fire. Kids running barefoot. Sunsets that make everyone stay outside a little longer.

That’s exactly the kind of feeling we’re bringing to Piney River this weekend. 🌲✨

There’s something really special about creating for someone through feeling, energy, and the little glimpses that make up who they are. ✨

A friend reached out and simply said, “I trust you… just create.”

She sent me a few photos, shared a few details, and gave me complete creative freedom. I spent time looking through the images, taking in the spirit, the softness, the groundedness she carried… and just started creating from there.

What came from that was this piece — and honestly, I’m incredibly proud of this one.
It feels like everything I love most about creating finally came together in one hat.

Earthy tones layered with intention.
Hand-burned botanical details drawn directly into the brim.
Music notes scattered like memories.
A hand-beaded Indian agate band chosen for grounding, balance, and connection.
Soft feathers, worn textures, imperfect edges… the kind of beauty that feels lived in instead of polished.

There’s something about hand-burning details into a hat that feels different than any other part of the process. The warmth, the texture, the permanence of it. Each detail adds another layer of story and makes the piece feel a little more alive, a little more personal.

Underneath the brim it says:
“how lucky are we.”

And maybe that’s really what this piece became about.
The people who trust us with their stories.
The beauty of creating something completely one of a kind.
The reminder that the most meaningful things are rarely perfect — they’re layered, weathered, personal, and real.

How lucky are we to create.
How lucky are we to connect.
How lucky are we to carry little pieces of our story with us wherever we roam. 🤎
