The Ewings celebrating love :: weddings, babies & families by Boston-based husband & wife team Erica & Ben Ewin

"She's like a long lost friend you feel like you've always known, someone you trust to bring her full attention to your needs as the client, while being the listener and idealistic photographer that makes your experience comfortable, fun and creative. When you get a mix like that, you know you'll get exactly what you want."

This weekend, a senior at our high school died tragically in a car accident. 💔

Collectively, every mama in town’s heart broke.

💔For the loss of a child, taken way too soon.

💔For a fellow mama, who’s suffering the unimaginable.

💔For the fear that grips you when you enter parenthood, and all you want to do every single day is keep them safe. I hold my breath every time my 16yo leaves the house.

I share this because our Instagram feed is literally a highlight reel of life’s best moments - engagements, weddings, babies, families growing up together.

But that’s not life’s full story.

Life is amazing and beautiful and full of wonder, but it’s also hard and sad and confusing.

When I asked my son Trevor if kids on his team were friends with Travis, he replied “Everyone was friends with Travis.” He was a good kid with a whole life ahead of him.

If you would like to help Travis’s family, please consider donating:

RIP Travis Texeira, 2007 - 2026.
Our hearts are with you and your family. ♥️

When big sis is just as excited as you are for baby #2. 🥰

In-home newborn sessions are so special because yes, you don’t leave the house (hurray!), but we can also document the place where baby’s story began.

Whether you’re in your forever home or your “for now” home, it’s an important part of baby’s story and one they’ll want to hear about. And siblings are always extra comfy at home.

This session is the first of 3 to document this special boy’s first year! This sweet boy can look forward to an heirloom baby album of his first year, plus a special place on the wall, to be enjoyed every day. ♥️

Dreaming of sunshine, and running through rolling fields of warm grass with these cuties, spending an afternoon capturing memories for a couple I’ve photographed for…11 years 🤯♥️🥰

For those of you in the Boston area, who - like me – have forgotten what it feels like to be warm… My next several posts are for you.

Sunny, happy, and most importantly – not a single flake of snow. 🤪

Throwback to Bena & Matt’s sun-drenched wedding at Lourdes Camp in NY’s Finger Lakes Region!

So much love lives in this house!

Sometimes sweet, sometimes the “I love you so much I just want to SQUEEZE YOU SO TIGHT” kinda love. 🤣

Baby boy completes their little tribe - which means this was the last session of our last Baby Collective. 🥹

Each child has their own baby album documenting their entire first year, plus a wall gallery we’ve slowly built over the years celebrating all the milestones.

As I was leaving, big sis Tessa asked “Will you take our pictures again?” Yes baby girl / always. ♥️

Cake by the incredible (who is also the gorgeous mama in these pictures - because why wouldn’t you start a business with 3 kids under 5 at home🤣😍🥰!)

I have a really hard time showing up online when life gets heavy. Not knowing what to say, because honestly I can’t even wrap my mind around what’s happening in our country.

And so I’ve found myself showing up less and less over the last several years.

And there’s so much judgment about the right way to show up. I’ve seen posts lately talking about how “art is political.” And in some cases, yes.

And in other cases, art is love.

I’m not ever going to be someone you should come to for the latest in politics, or how to spark the change we want to see in government (and apparently basic human decency).

But if you want a reminder that there’s still so much beauty in the world, I’m your girl.

It’s literally my job to focus on the good. I’ve thought a lot about it over the last few weeks, and I’ve realized that by not showing up, there’s a little less goodness in the world.

So I’m going to commit to sharing love and joy and connection and beauty, even when life feels hard. If this is you too, please keep showing up with the good stuff. Please keep showing up with love.

The world needs more of it. ♥️

When Brady and Hailey are together, it’s magic.

They have a beautiful chemistry really unlike anyone else - when you share space with them, and you catch them stealing looks at each other, you know that nothing else matters. Except that it somehow doesn’t feel exclusive. It feels like you’re included in their connection, invited to witness true, deep love.

Life is more beautiful with them in it. Alllll the tears during Brady’s vows are the proof.

Omni Mount Washington brought us all together, starting with Hailey’s sweet older sister Whitney. I could create a whole separate post on their tribe - siblings and mamas and friends-turned-family, but for now, their Owl’s Nest wedding highlight had to be just them.

♥️♥️♥️
Hailey & Brady, thank you for sharing your White Mountains wedding day with us. Congratulations, sweet friends.

Sunset Cliffs in San Diego!

Last winter I skipped out on Boston winter for a week and headed to a business retreat in San Diego led by my friend Mandy Ford (she’s the goat of SEO, Google Ads & Pinterest!).

While I was there, I had the chance to do a shoot with Andie (obviously YES!)

I loved the pictures and realized I didn’t share a single one with you! So today I took a creative break to have a little fun with these beauties. I forgot that I played with a super slow shutter speed for the last one - the water is so silky!

What do you think?

When we talk about booking weddings (or more specifically, getting wedding leads), Instagram and ads are what everyone talks about.

They’re the easiest way to reach engaged couples, right?

In theory...but
the constant posting,
the algorithm changes,
the money spent...

It’s exhausting, expensive...and if you're not getting the wedding inquiries you actually want, it's beyond disheartening.

And if you're not getting leads from Instagram, where should they come from?

✨Referrals.

Referrals are the ultimate game-changer for your business. Why?

1️⃣ Built-In Trust: When someone refers you, they’re vouching for your work. Trust is already established before you even have the first chat. No need to “prove” yourself like you do with "cold" leads who stumble upon you online.

2️⃣ Higher-Quality Leads: Referrals are often your dream clients. They’ve seen your work, heard amazing things about you, and are already excited to book. No more chasing people who aren’t a fit.

3️⃣ No Ongoing Costs: Unlike ads or constant Instagram posting, referrals don’t require a daily grind or a big budget. Once you have a system in place, they flow in naturally—saving you time and money.

If you’re tired of hustling for every lead, it’s time to focus on building a referral system that works for you.

If I had to book 5 weddings in 4 weeks—as an experienced wedding photographer who's looking to work with a specific clientele—I'd take a few very intentional steps to make it happen.
