So, exterior (or shells) are more important than what's inside? We're not talking about people (yet). We're talking about Food Trucks. Yep. Our Food Truck's appearance and exterior was not acceptable for an event we were supposed to cater today for the folks at Harris Ranch. We were told 2 days before the event that our truck wasn't the "look" they were wanting for the grand opening of the new Town Homes that were recently built. And, that they didn't remember our truck looking the same since the last time we catered an event out there. Yeah, it's a beat up, 1992, old Seattle Light Truck converted into an amazing machine that gives us the opportunity to serve awesome food to the masses. Sorry we can't afford to completely wrap it or give it a new, fresh paint job. We're a DIY, family run business with no investors or credit cards. The "look" of our exterior has nothing to do with the quality of our food, or us, as hard working human beings.
We've served the good folks of Harris Ranch multiple times over the years, with no problems. The patrons always raved about our food and a few even commented on what a cool looking truck we have. Our interior is always clean and we have always been up to code. But, because of the exterior of the truck, we were told our services were no longer needed for today's event. The date was confirmed weeks ago, we had plenty of other events we had to turn down for this date, had already bought product to prep today and our family was all set up to work hard.
So fellow food truck associates, trim your menu boards with rhinestones, flaunt your bling and light the candelabra. From the sounds of it, Food Truck Dress Code is now required.
