The Idaho State Police Alcohol Beverage Control and the Boise Police Department are hosting a Venue & Mobile Bar / Alcohol Catering Presentation + Q&A on Monday, May 18, 2026 at 10:00 AM.

This is a huge opportunity to hear directly from the agencies overseeing compliance, permitting, alcohol catering, and event operations here in Idaho — while also connecting with others in the hospitality and event industry.

Topics include:
• Special Events
• Licensing & Endorsements
• Alcohol Catering Applications & Permits
• Non-Profit Permits
• Event Venues
• Alcohol Server Training
• Expectations & Best Practices
• Open Q&A Session

Location:
Boise Police Department — Sawtooth Auditorium
333 N Mark Stall Place
Boise, ID 83704

Parking is free, but space is limited.

As someone who works closely within Idaho’s mobile bar and event industry, I can honestly say these conversations are incredibly valuable. Staying informed, operating professionally, and building positive relationships within our industry matters — and events like this help continue raising the standard across the state.

We’re excited to attend and hope to see some familiar faces there.

ABC-ISP & BPD Alcohol Training Dry Hire Info

The term “dry hire” has been used in various instances recently. Per Idaho Code, only those licensed and authorized in Title 23 are allowed to sell, serve, and/or dispense alcohol. Many individuals have inquired about having individuals purchase and transport the alcohol for them to an event. They intend to only pour and serve the alcohol. However, the act of dispensing the alcohol to the public still constitutes a violation of state law and “dry hire” is not allowed.

Idaho Code § 23-934, 23-602

We sincerely apologize for any delays in our correspondence with our clients. Last week was busy as we had multiple events, including an awards ceremony and celebrated our son’s first birthday. The day after our last event, we traveled to North Dakota to honor the life of a remarkable woman, my mother-in-law, Jennifer.

No one ever prepares you for the kind of love that only a mother can give. It’s a profound experience, filled with deep joy that often brings an ache to your heart. This depth of emotion can feel overwhelming at times, making your happiness bittersweet.

Becoming a mother brings a weight of responsibility that can feel heavy on your heart, sometimes making it hard to breathe. It’s an uncharted territory where the fragility of life becomes so vivid. The thought of losing a child becomes a haunting shadow, as you realize how intricately your existence is woven with that of your children.

No one tells you that becoming a mother ignites a fear of loss that is all-consuming; that losing your child would feel like a thousand lifetimes of anguish rolled into one. Like a world where they didn't exist in would be beyond unbearable. Yet, this journey also opens your heart to a love you never knew was possible, leaving you in awe but often scrambling to find your place.

To you, Jennifer, it has been a great honor to be your daughter-in-law, and I feel an overwhelming sense of gratitude. By sharing Jordan with me, you’ve given me the greatest gift of all: my own family. There are no words that can capture my appreciation for you.

You were an extraordinary mother and an even more incredible grandmother. Thank you for embracing me and making me a part of your family. Thank you for all of the visits. Thanks for all the late night wine conversations. Thanks for tolerating my moms Michigan rummy rules. Thanks for the “you dont own me” dancing in the kitchen. Thank you for the amazing memories. And mostly thank you for showering love on our little ones. You will be profoundly missed, held in our thoughts, and forever remembered in the love I show your son, your grandson Colton and your granddaughter Charli. Until we meet again.
