Another fun side-trip we took at Missoula was to their fantastic Carousel.

I was disappointed that the “bank organ” was being tuned , so the music was modern & digital. 🤷‍♂️

Alas, every one of us stood there watching the 🎠 Carousel spin, and KNEW that if we rode it we would become too dizzy 🥴😵‍💫to dance later. ( I think it’s our birthday candles that do that to us🤷‍♂️.)

So, you know, the dancing 💃🕺
will always come first with old die-hards like us, so we watched but did not ride the Carousel. 🎠

We also ate great BBQ at the 🐷Notorious Pig, near the Missoula college.

Look what I found while walking the cobblestone entry to the National Forest Service Interpretive Center!
This was such a wonderful find, our own Bill & Joan Oliver (Capital Squares dancers) were Forest Service employees and contributors to the center in Missoula.

Bravo ❤️ . I KNOW that Bill must have guided me to this stone…. It was the first ( & most meaningful ) picture I took at the center. You were both with us in spirit Joanie.

While in Lolo, we attended the grand opening for first ( & only) National Forest Service Interpretive Center in Missoula. What a fantastic center, I could have spent days & days there.

We had a lovely air B&B in Lolo.
There were 8 from Boise including Darin , his daughters, the Meyers , the Vikens, & Brenda Freeman. Darin was Caller ( & the dancers just loved him ) and Theresa Ray was Cuer (we loved her too )!💃🕺

We ate at “Pickle’s Place” in Arco on the way to Lolo. Their town was popping, it was their annual ‘atomic days celebration’.

Arco is known for being the first (& for many years the only) city powered completely by nuclear power ( from the nearby INEL Lab).

If you are ever in Arco, eat at Pickles Place, it’s great food.

Darin & his girls got to sign the wall at Yellowrock Campground in Lolo, MT last weekend, a privilege that only very special guests receive. The dancers loved him!

Im sharing this post from my daughter’s page. The Idaho state festival was a great time !!

I was so thrilled to meet this Caller, Scott Bennett, today at the Idaho State Dance held in Boise, Idaho. When we first learned to square dance I sought out Callers from all over the States. What drew me to Scott and my desire to hopefully someday meet him was the music he produced for square dance and his amazing voice. Although I've not been able to square dance for health reasons I was over the moon to meet him today. Thank you Scott for visiting with me and taking a picture with me and my mom Margean Viken.
