Hi there👋🏼 my name is Kayla and very few people that follow Brigade Events actually know who I am or what I do for this company. I started this business two years ago with my friend Shawn, after planning his wedding to his wife, Tara. At the time Shawn, being an entrepreneur, saw something in me that I hadn’t yet realized about myself. After watching me running around and doing what came naturally to me on their wedding day, he wanted to start an event company with me. I actually blew him off for about 6 or 8 months after that, thinking it was too good to be true, until one day I realized I wanted to pursue my passion of organizing, planning and creating in the event world. So we took that exciting leap and Brigade Events was formed.
( **insert vulnerable moment** ) For those that know me, know I am a strange form of introvert. I love being in the background and not the center of attention… so I rarely post pictures of myself or “toot my own horn”. I love getting to know new people and going to events and being around fun, excited energy. But I also love my quiet alone time with no one but my furry fluff ball of a cat around me. Today, I decided to get out of my comfort zone of background-dwelling introverted habits and put myself in front of all of you. I wanted to introduce myself as the Executive Coordinator for Brigade Events and give you a face to the girl in the background, running around with the clipboard, making my client’s Big Day or Special Event go off without a hitch. I am the girl that loves bringing fun ideas to life and piecing parts of my client’s personalities and passions into their party, making it unique just like them. There’s so much to me and my creative personality that I have had the opportunity to use in this job and it has been such an honor to work with all the clients that have trusted me with their events in the last couple of years. I am now in a career that I get to use my talents and gifts to help make people’s dreams into reality, while being there to calm the stressful chaos of planning an event. I truly am so grateful for the client’s I have had and I am so excited to see what this next season brings to us!
