BOGGSTOWN SEVENTH DAY ADVENTIST CHURCH "HOMECOMING"
1. Boggstown Beckons!
2. Come celebrate history in Boggstown Indiana!
3. The Boggstown Seventh Day Adventist Church (2024 photo) was built in 1887 and used until 1993, and the building has changed very little, with the pews still being used.
4. In 1902 Boggstown Manual Training Academy was founded as a boarding school in the town by the state Seventh Day Adventists. In 1903 it moved nearby and renamed Beechwood Academy, on what is still called "Academy Road". In 1919 it moved to Cicero and renamed to the current Indiana Academy high school.
5. Our Joseph Boggs Society for Historical Preservation's local museum has been in the building since 1997, and you can follow us at "Facebook.com/Boggstown."
6. We are hosting a "Homecoming" at the old church on Saturday April 18, 2026 from 1-5pm, at 2616 N Sand Creek Road in Boggstown.
7. Boggstown past and present residents are invited to join past members of the Boggstown Seventh Day Adventist Church, as well as past and present members of surrounding SDA churches.
8. Early on we will sing some hymns from the days at Old Boggstown, share a few remembrances of Boggstown, and have plenty of time to socialize. Our museum has a few items from the church, and many displays of the history of Boggstown and Sugar Creek Township.
9. Please share this invitation with your friends, especially those who might be interested in attending.
10. For those who remember parking in the grass on the north side of the church, if it's not too soft, go ahead and park there again. Others can use our parking lot on the south side :)
11. Thanks to church member and Indiana Academy graduate Penny (Howard) Franey for helping us coordinate the homecoming.
12. We'd like to get a tentative number to expect, so drop an email if you plan to attend to [email protected], or if you have questions.
Hope to see you there!
