On December 13, I had the honor of attending the XX Gala Ball & Dinner 2025, a traditional gala event of the Brazilian community in the United States, held at the Aloft Marriott Seaport Hotel in South Boston, Massachusetts.

The event was hosted by the Brazilian Community Heritage Foundation, in partnership with the Brazilian Times, and produced by Classic Productions.
It was a night dedicated to celebrating journeys, leadership, and the impact of Brazilians who continue to build bridges, stories, and futures beyond Brazil.

It was a pleasure to be part of such a well curated night, filled with exchanges and encounters that strengthen our community and expand perspectives.

When purpose, presence, and movement come together, transformation happens.

Thanksgiving Through the Feathers

Thanksgiving is all about gratitude, good food and good company. And for me, everything starts the moment I begin to samba my way around the kitchen.

A full-time hostess and a chef who suddenly thinks she can run a five-star kitchen.

I love this holiday. Family walking in like they own the place, friends arriving just in time to “help” (mostly by eating) and me trying to keep the turkey alive… or at least looking pretty.

My favorite part is the chaos. The laughter, the table getting crowded, the dishes multiplying, the spices everywhere and me pretending I planned all of it. Cooking for the people I love fills the house with flavor and my heart with joy.

Thanksgiving reminds me that the best moments are the ones you don’t script. Just good food, good company and the kind of happiness you can taste.
