Aunt Willie's Wildflowers What a delight it is for us to grow specialty cut flowers on beautiful Tennessee farm land gently handed down through six generations.

We invite you to choose flowers for that very special wedding, join a workshop or two or contact us about purchasing flowers for a very special occasion. All flowers are farm grown. Some are heirloom and some are just plain pretty. Our hope is that through Aunt Willie’s Wildflowers, the love of all things wild that grow and blossom will pass beyond our family to any who would choose to share in all that God graciously bestows.

Dahlias and flower farmers alike have struggled first with the spring drought and then with rains and storms that don’t pretend to listen to the weather forecasts. We’ve had dahlia tubers rot in the wet ground and others grow sooo very slowly. But even the worst of weather can’t keep dahlias down forever.

All these were cut yesterday and will be re-blooming just in time for our Farm Tour Thursday evening. Join us if you can for some relaxing time in the country, learn a bit about Dahlias and all the other summer bloomers, cut a bouquet, hear old farm stories, and make a new friend!

FARM TOUR - Thurs, Aug 20, 6-8 pm.

Come spend a relaxing evening in the country - cut a bouquet, hear Old Farm stories, and be the first group to see our 8 arbors covered and tangled. At the beginning of the season, we said we just wanted a pretty garden this year and the dimension and whimsy the arbors carry brought that beauty alive.

So, besides all the pretty Dahlias, zinnias, rudbeckia, celosia, and mountain mint to cut, there are pie or jarrahdale pumpkin arbors to stand under and seeds seeds from the love in a puff vine to gather.

After we explore the Home Place and all the flowers, vines, and branches there, we’ll head down to Aunt Willie‘s where all the Woodies and perennials are strutting their stuff.

SOLD OUT! Farm Tour! Tuesday July 14, 6-8 p.m.

Come join us for a Farm Tour, U-pick this Tuesday evening, before the 90° temps return! So many Dahlias and so many zinnias ready for bouquet making.

Roy always kicks off the tour with a few farm stories dating back to the 1700’s and a bit of getting acquainted, and then it’s on to the dahlias to cut a bouquet. Besides zinnias and Dahlias, there are celosias, dill, yarrow, and mountain mint ready for you to cut and other good summer bloomers around the Homeplace including Annabelle hydrangea and some ever-present but oh-so-useful Poke w**d. Then on to Aunt Willie’s house and so many woodies and perennials. We have four types of hydrangea at Aunt Willie’s and the limelight should be getting ready to cut.

I like the peace and quiet that tags along with early Sunday mornings.

Able to use the tail end of spring snaps along with the beginnings of summer - butterfly w**d, dahlias, and roadside rudbeckia . . . with sunflowers for a pop 🌻

When campanula bloom, spring is at its finest. This morning I woke up, drove the side-by-side to the hoop, gathered a few pink and white campanula, headed to the chicken coop/design studio 😉, added a few peonies and bupleurum and plopped them in a vase. Some arrangements make themselves ☺️

True confessions, I took a little tumble on the way to the sanctuary but somehow managed to keep the flowers in their vase. They looked a little disheveled but we’ll just call it the natural look ☺️

When campanula bloom, spring is at its finest. This morning I woke up, drove the side-by-side to the hoop, gathered a few pink and white campanula, headed to the chicken coop/design studio 😉, added a few peonies and bupleurum and plopped them in a vase.
