If you are in the 5 county region surrounding this landfill, this is great news, but PLEASE read the article as this is why your rates went up and why our transfer station request could be critical to your waste handling needs should they not get this figured out. With only about 8 years of life left, should they not make this happen, then what??

Williamsport, Pa. — Lycoming County commissioners approved a new management partnership for the county landfill after a long period of financial scrutiny, internal audits, and public debate over whether the

******SNOW UPDATE-TUESDAY 1/27*****

We are out. Secondary roads, alleys and back streets are absolutely a mess.

Just a few pics from around the area.

Please remember to clear lids off, clear out in front of dumpster and around all sides. Clear all enclosures in front of gates and inside the enclosure area. If we can’t get to the dumpster, we can’t provide service.

Make sure your trash cans are accessible and free of snow.

We realize this may an inconvenience after the painstaking efforts to clear snow, but if we can’t get to it, we can’t take it.

*******TRASH COLLECTION UPDATE******

Sunday - January 25th - Update

FDSI has elected to suspend trash collection for Monday, January 26th, due to the State of Emergency issued by the Governor, state and local authorities. We will postpone all MONDAY residential collection until Monday, Feb 2nd. Should this be extended any further in the week, we will provide updates accordingly.

We ask that all curbside customers clear a path for our staff to easily and safely access your can/bags. Climbing over snowbanks is not safe. If you have dumpster service, we ask that all snow is removed from the top, sides and front. Should you have an enclosure, please ensure all snow is removed from the access point so that we may be able to enter and exit safely. If this is not done, service may be delayed further.

Safety is our first concern for not only our staff and our customers, but also anyone else we may encounter during this chaotic time.

We are all in the same boat with this situation. Let’s let calmer heads prevail and help us in making sure that not one person, possession, or property is damaged by this act of Mother Nature.

Thank you,
FDSI

IMPENDING WEATHER ADVISORY- (Sunday/Monday Jan 25/26)

YES, WE ARE ON THE CUFF OF AN EXPECTED SNOW STORM. A POTENTIAL MEGASTORM. However, our crystal ball is currently broke, therefore we are unable to predict what Sunday night into Monday is going to look like.

SAFETY*******SAFETY********SAFETY********SAFETY********

IF we are unable to collect your trash due to unsafe road conditions, we will ATTEMPT to collect as soon as it is safe to do so, no exceptions. We will NOT put anyone in harms way while local and state agencies attempt to clear roadways. It is during this time that the state often closes the major highways, therefore the restrictions go beyond our decision making process. If the storm is as big as predicted, we may have to bump collection until the next week.

Fought's Disposal Service Inc. reserves the right to cancel collection service on days or in areas in which we deem the roads are unsafe due to snow or ice. Although an individual may feel their road is fine to travel in their personal vehicle, we will NOT put our staff, our equipment or your lives in jeopardy. It will hold just fine for one more week. There may be no makeup runs. There will not be adjustments to bills.

Remember white bags are hard to see in snow. Please make sure that all trash is placed in open areas free of snow and ice. If you have shoveled out for the postman, why not the trashman. Please make sure that all bags are free of snow and ice, why pay for it.
Same time every year and same concerns every year. Let us all work together to get everyone home safe and sound at the end of the day. Although it is important, it is trash.

These are trying times and everyone is going to be in the same boat. We ask for your understanding and should you have any questions, please call, but remember, we will not know the status until sometime Sunday into Monday as to what exactly we are facing.
Thank you,
Fought's Disposal Service Inc.
