T H A N K Y O U

It is with a grateful and very full heart that I’m on here today to let you know I’ll be stepping away from wedding planning to focus on our family. I am so excited for this next chapter, but first I’m going to take this opportunity to give a quick toast 🥂

To my couples - thank you for trusting me with some of your most important and life changing moments. I feel so lucky to have witnessed such incredible love and commitment over the years and I am so excited to be able to continue to watch your love and families grow.

To my vendor friends - thank you for sharing your incredible talent & giving so much of yourselves to make these days shine. From editorial shoots, to wedding days, to networking coffee dates, I’m so thankful for the kindness and the friendships you’ve given me.

To my team - thank you for trusting me. For putting up with (and supporting!) my crazy ideas. For sticking with me through long days and sometimes even longer nights. I couldn’t have done this without you.

To my family - thank you for supporting me endlessly. I could go on & on about the weddings steamed dozens of bridesmaid dresses or the thousands of chairs has set up for me on hot summer days but it wouldn’t do justice to the time, energy, and love they’ve shown me time & time again. This family has believed in me every step of the way and it’s meant the world to me.

Thank you all for the good times, the many lessons learned, and the beautiful memories I’ll cherish forever. I had so much fun with you all and can’t wait to celebrate what’s to come!

I can’t believe it’s been an entire year since we said “I do”. In this year we have been through some of the highest highs and lowest lows and I can say with absolute certainty that there is no one else I’d rather have by my side through it all. Forever grateful for this wonderful man and I can’t wait to see what the rest do forever has in store for us ❤️

Betty and Donald True fell in love in 1941 in Bedford, IN. A Navy man, Don wrote love letters to Betty all through his service in WWII and finally worked up the courage to ask her to marry him upon his return. When Betty’s parents didn’t approve of the match, they married in secret at their church on December 20th 1947. They were married for 68 years before Don passed in 2015.

As many of you might know, Betty has been living with Nate and I. Though Don’s been gone for some time, she’d tell anyone who asked that she’d “marry him all over again” and “he was a really really great guy”. Her best advice in marriage was “Don’t waste time fightin’. If you don’t fuss over the little things you can have a pretty good life.” Betty loved Don for 82 of her 99 years before rejoining him in heaven yesterday.

I’ve been asked before why I chose the name “Something True” for my wedding planning business, and it’s really very simple - Something True was founded on True Love. It is because of Betty & Don’s love that I found my own love in their grandson. I hope we are all able to find that type of love that knows no bounds and leaves you with a lifetime of happy memories. ❤️

So many fun things happening over here at Something True and we can’t wait to let you in on all of the goodness… Starting with our new logo!!! did such an awesome job bringing this simple but classy logo to life for us 🤍

Fun details we incorporated:
~ highlighting the H for our last name (Hinshaw)
~ the color blue as a classic homage to the wedding tradition our name is inspired by (“something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue”)
~ we FINALLY are speaking to the design aspect of our business! Coordination is still included in all that we do, but most of our couples also ask about design help & it is our jam!
~ the ampersand because it takes two & that’s really what the day is supposed to be about. You & Your Love.
