Allow me to interrupt the usual wedding feed with an important life update and a different sort of, but still insanely gorgeous, decor inspo 😍

You may see a bit less wedding content from me in the next year or so as I’m slowing down temporarily on wedding gigs to help my amazing husband Henry as he kicks off his own business venture, !!

Henry has worked in the construction industry for two decades and he and I have always made a great team for DIY projects and home renovations. We’re about as Chip and Joanna as they come, with me being great at the overall vision, planning and scheduling and him nailing the hands-on skills and artistry to bring those visions to life.

This year he’s finally making this business official! IDIA stands for “I do it all”, and he and I are excited to get into all sorts of different projects to help more folks bring their home visions to life! 🙌🏻

Lost on what to do about your wedding vows?? Here’s a guide to your options:

1. Scripted vows! If your officiant is from a church or a professional company, they may have a common script for your vows. This can be a good option for more traditional couples! Even if you’re having a family member or friend officiate, there are many different scripted options for vows if you just take a quick search online.

2. Written vows! If you want to personalize your vows completely, you may decide to write your own. Your marriage will be what you make it together and your vows can be too! This can be a good option for more creative couples who want a wedding that feels more tailored to themselves as a couple.

3. Some sort of combination! Does writing your own vows feel daunting? Maybe start with scripted vows and tweak them a bit to fit you and your partner! Do you like the idea of writing your own vows but don’t feel like sharing them in front of your guests? Maybe use scripted vows for your ceremony but do your own personal vows in private immediately before or after!

The amazing thing about weddings nowadays is that there are no hard and fast rules! Just do what feels right to you and your spouse to be. In the end, nothing else matters but the two of you and your commitment to each other!

3 tips to nail that perfect ceremony dip pic:

1. Hit your mark! Pick a spot about midway down the aisle to get some good reactions in the background.

2. Face towards the camera! Hold your flowers in the hand that’s closest to the photographer, but keep them away from your face.

3. Practice makes perfect! Do a run through of the dip at your wedding rehearsal to make sure it’s comfortable and fun.

Happy one month anniversary to this beautiful couple!

What was originally planned as a large outdoor summer wedding took a big pivot to become a small, intimate and cozy winter celebration and it couldn’t have been more perfect.

The kindness and warmth of both of these families quite seriously lit up this dreary and rainy December day. The couple were surrounded by the people they loved most and everything felt so relaxed and organic. On top of that, I got to work with a killer vendor team compromised of someone of my most favorite people.
