I absolutely love when photographers are able to get room shots of the reception space without guests. It’s like the calm before the storm!!
How can you make this happen? Here’s four key wedding day people to consider:
1. Your guests
There’s no bigger pet peeve for a wedding planner than a guest who sets a big ugly purse down while the photographer is getting room shots 🤦🏻♀️ Reception room shots work best if your guests are well taken care of elsewhere! As long as they have access to drinks, food and some seating options, keep those reception space doors closed until after the photos!
2. Your caterer
Will your caterer be pre-setting salads or water glasses? How much time will they need to do so? Work together with your catering team so they can get their job done without being in the way of the photos!
3. Your photographer
Ask your photographer how much time they’d like for reception space details shots! They, alongside your planner, will have great suggestions for how to plug these in to your reception timeline.
4. YOU!
Do you want to see the space before guests arrive? Do you want that moment to be photographed? Or would you rather spend cocktail hour with your guests? It’s your day, so design it your way!
