No u-pick this weekend! Traffic has been slow lately (unless it's a special event/fundraiser), and with rain on the way through Monday, I'm going to take some advice from Piper the dog and relax a bit. 😊 That said, if you're just dying to pick flowers in the rain this weekend, shoot me a message and I'll meet you in the field with a jar and some snips. ❤️💐 Enjoy the long weekend, folks!

Hey folks! The u-pick is open until 6pm today, and we still have lots of beautiful flowers to snag. The weekend forecast looks wet -- if the rain holds off Saturday, we will be open. But Sunday and Monday (Labor Day) look soggy, so we will likely be closed. Your best chance for flowers is today!

Folks, we have a problem! We have waaayyy too many beautiful lisianthus right now. Come to our u-pick this Thursday thru Sunday and help me out! You can take home as many as you can fit in your $20 jar (or splurge for a $50 bucket and take home the mother lode.) We also have a fundraiser on Sunday for the Blair PTO, so come that day and 25% of u-pick sales go to that organization. Hope to see you out at the farm!

Well folks, I'm not sure where all that water went...but it's (mostly) gone! We still have a couple muddy spots, but for the most part we are on pretty solid ground here at the farm. Hubby (AKA the Executive Farmhand) has been working on a more permanent structure for the u-pick stand. The lisianthus are blooming like crazy, as are the dahlias. And we still have more to pick from as we wait for regrowth in other areas. Bottom line: our u-pick is open for business this Thursday thru Sunday, despite the heat! Come visit us, pick some flowers, let us see your lovely faces. It feels like it's been weeks! ❤️💐

The u-pick was open for about an hour, and the black clouds came and dropped some more rain on us. Overall, I think things will be fine. It's just a lot right now! And we'd love a precipitation break for a bit (please and thank you, Mother Nature ❤️)
We had rivers of water coming over dikes and land bridges, skipping culverts and all. Our creek, which is usually a trickle, is raging. What a wild couple days. Thanks everyone for your kind words -- we are doing fine, just looking forward to drying out a bit.

U-pick is closed... I'll post more later, but wow. We just got another couple inches, and with nowhere else to go, we have ponds, creeks, and mini rivers all over the property. Guess I won't need irrigation for a while! Let's hope we don't get too much more...

Update: our u-pick WILL be open tomorrow (Sunday) from 11-4
**Thanks to everyone for your kind messages today as we sort out damage from this morning's storm. I am relieved to report that, while there was some loss, most of it is stuff that will bounce back in a couple weeks. We were mostly affected by the wind (there are snapped power poles down the road, but we actually did get power back this afternoon!) You can see a before-and-after on our gomphrena...😞 But it will get better. ❤️‍🩹
