Unfortunately, we experienced something that every small business owner hopes they never have to face.

A client booked our venue for a 7-hour event to celebrate their son’s high school graduation and 18th birthday on June 26, 2026. We honored every obligation outlined in our signed contract. The venue was open for the full rental period, our team fulfilled our responsibilities, table linens were provided and used, and we even extended additional courtesy accommodations that were not included in the rental agreement.

After the event was completed and all services had been rendered, the client filed a fraudulent charge dispute with their credit card company.

Let’s be clear: A chargeback is not a refund because an event didn’t meet personal expectations. Guest attendance, last-minute cancellations, or the outcome of a party are not the responsibility of the venue. Our contractual obligation is to provide the venue and services agreed upon—and we did exactly that.

As a result of this dispute, funds were removed from our business account while we were required to submit our signed contract, payment records, photos, videos, and other documentation proving that the services were fully provided.

For a small, family-owned business, situations like this are incredibly damaging. We work hard to create memorable experiences for our clients, and fraudulent chargebacks take valuable time, resources, and revenue away from businesses that have already fulfilled their commitments.

Because of experiences like this, our payment policies have changed. Effective immediately, we will no longer accept credit card payments for venue rentals. We have also strengthened our policies regarding payment disputes and will pursue all available legal remedies when services have been rendered in full and an unwarranted chargeback is filed.

To our wonderful clients who value honesty, integrity, and small businesses—thank you. Your support allows us to continue serving our community and creating beautiful celebrations every single day.
