Happy 106th Birthday to a true classic bride—my Granny! Growing up, and even to this day, when I hear the word “bride” I picture this photo of her on her wedding day.

As a child, I was fascinated by her gown and would ask her countless questions about her wedding. She told me she bought her dress at Hudson’s in Detroit, and when she stretched her arms, there were fabric loops around her middle fingers that lifted her train for a quick bustle.

I miss her every day and cherish all the advice she gave me. I’ll never forget my favorite piece of advice from her: “Always look a little sexy!”
