Top 5 things that transformed our wedding film business this past year. (Not an ad.)

1. Collective
They manage our books, payroll, and taxes.
I did everything myself for nearly 10 years, and this was the biggest shift we made all year. The mental space it’s freed up has been everything. Truly.
2. HoneyBook
Client management software.
Yes — they raised their prices. But their finance features completely changed how we organize projects and how we plan for cash flow. And as a business owner, that matters.
3. Plotline
AI for scripting and storyboarding.
I’m a big fan of Hello Tomorrow Films, but I didn’t have high expectations for this tool — which is why I waited so long to try it. I was wrong. Total game changer.
4. Family days
Not a product you can buy.
Mondays are our Saturdays. Coffee in the park, chasing kids, slowing down. It’s been invaluable for our mental health and our mindset as business owners.
5. I stopped comparing myself
I was obsessing over other people’s work — watching films shot in Italy and Hawaii and asking, “Why don’t my films look like that?”
