10 years ago today, Alloy Thai debuted with 2 nights of dinners, serving more than 250 people. I am full of gratitude for the past decade of support. Things have been difficult lately, but I hope to continue to serve you the best Thai food in town with the freshest ingredients for years to come.

Kuwai ( #クワイ) is a delicious aquatic vegetable - arrowhead ( ) species have been enjoyed as a food across much of the world, but most notably in Asia and the Americas, where it was a traditional food source for indigenous peoples. These are freshly harvested from one of my ponds.

Losar, Tibetan New Year, is my most beloved holiday each year. Think of it as new years, Christmas, and your birthday, all rolled into one.
This year, the TGE has requested that public celebrations be cancelled in honor of the deaths of a great number off Tibetans due to earthquake, as well of the death of HHDL’s elder brother - it is tradition that when there is a death in the family, for one year you don’t celebrate new years other than home/family gatherings and religious observances - so for the first year, I’m not offering a Losar dinner. But if you’d like to organize a private party or cooking class featuring Tibetan dishes, just give me a shout!
Here’s a quick look around the shrine room to see the traditional decorations - please forgive the mess - and (in the comments) a couple images of the process for making khapsey, festive fried cookies. A scorpion or turtle is made and fried first, either to burn off the past year’s negativities or to guard the process, depending on your interpretation.
