Once during an interview I was asked āWhat is your least favorite part about being a florist?ā
And I couldnāt think of anything, I had no good answer, I thought I loved it all.
But then we talked about how as florists, we are there for the highest highs and the lowest of lows for people. And talking to customers while they are making the decisions of what flowers they will have at their loved oneās memorial or funeralā¦.is tough. āWhat flowers, what colors, hereās the costā. THIS is my least favorite part.
So if you have ordered a sympathy or memorial piece from me, seriously, what an honor. š«¶
A week ago, we laid my grandpa to rest. And ouch. My heart ached while working on his flowers. I know he loved his garden flowers, but I also know as a man that has worked a lot of funerals in his life, he did not appreciate lugging arrangements around! āFlowers have a place outside.ā Is probably what he would say. So, I hope he didnāt mind his big arrangement too much, and was just happy that some of his flowers came out of his own granddaughterās garden..
