Binghamton, New York, Historic Mansion & Event Venue. Hosting tours & private events! There are a variety of lovely indoor and outdoor spaces.

The Kilmer Mansion on Riverside Drive is an event venue for weddings, parties, recitals, and meetings. Inside you will find a grand parlor, music room, dining room, and more. A library and large social hall are also available. Outside are beautiful gardens and a large 20x40 foot covered pad. Grand architecture is on display in each of the rooms available for your occasion accommodating 25 to 200 people. A large commercial-style kitchen is available for catered parties.

Our historic mansion will be featuring incredible artists like Rachel Consolazio of Rachel C Pottery doing a LIVE demo with her community pottery wheel! You get to try it too!

Influence by the Edwardian aesthetic: Cream subway tile and wallpaper with an Asian motif provide a clean yet mixed background - further juxtaposed with a vibrant blue Art Deco period pedestal sink with chrome legs that were added at a later date.

This quiet elegance paired with the unexpected provided designer Patricia Evans, Professor of Art & Design at an opportunity for a playful opportunity! By golly, she mastered it.

Tucked away on the second floor, this private bathroom - likely last designed by Willis’ widow, Sarah Jane Kilmer, was reserved for family use, away from guest view. It features classic half-tiled walls, an ornate light fixture, and convenient access to both Mrs. Kilmer’s bedroom and the Morning Room.

This beautiful transformation was curated by Mimi Corby Sprague in partnership with Mad Hatter Antiques.

Once the Kilmer family’s private parlor, this elegant room features intricate plasterwork and a stunning curved turret window overlooking Riverside Drive. It was later transformed by Willis Sharpe Kilmer into a trophy room to showcase his celebrated horse racing success.

This incredible rich transformation was curated by Mimi Corby Sprague and Tim Murray in partnership with Mad Hatter Antiques.

The space features a charming built-in bookshelf and has been thoughtfully restored in a soft Queen Anne pink - a nod to the original almond-toned paint uncovered during the restoration. A beautiful blend of historical charm and refined elegance.

THE REVEAL - Mr. Kilmer’s Master Suite!

We could FEEL the Kilmer’s in this masterful transformation by Tim Murray and Fiona Murray, Antique & Fine Arts Dealers.

Painted in Salisbury Green, a rich hue to reflect the original color found in the space.

The room connects directly to the servant quarters on one side and the family’s Private Parlor on the other, offering both privacy and accessibility.

Beautifully stenciled columns - originally added by the JLB during the 1985 Show House - added a distinguished, historic touch.

Our Story

The Jonas M. Kilmer Mansion is the sole survivor of the four original mansions on the east end of Riverside drive . The Mansion is owned and supported by Temple Concord, a nonprofit organization.

The Mansion is home to one of the last grand parlors of the Parlor City. Built in 1898, it is part home and part castle. It features turrets and towers, ballrooms and balconies. Visitors will find fine stonework and masterful woodwork. You can savor the unique beauty of this historic treasure. Join us for tours, music concerts, and other special events!

The Kilmer Mansion is also an event venue for weddings, parties, recitals, and meetings. There are a variety of lovely indoor and outdoor spaces.
