To whom it may concern,
I want to address recent concerns regarding comments I made while appearing on a podcast.
At no point during that conversation did I make degrading remarks about women, nor was it ever my intent to offend or disrespect anyone. I hold the utmost respect for women and have always conducted myself personally and professionally with that value at the forefront.
The statements I made were my personal opinions, shared respectfully and within my First Amendment right to free speech. I believe strongly in open dialogue, even when opinions differ. Having an opinion is not an act of hate, nor does it diminish my respect for others.
That said, I do sincerely apologize to anyone who felt hurt or offended by my words. While I stand by my right to express my views and do not apologize for having an opinion, I do regret any pain or misunderstanding that may have resulted from how my words were received.
I am aware that someone has taken it upon themselves to contact venues and individuals I work with in an attempt to harm my livelihood. Despite this, I choose not to respond with anger or resentment. Instead, I pray for that person and hope for understanding, healing, and peace on all sides.
I remain committed to respect, professionalism, and positivity in my work and in my life.
Sincerely,
Robert Ronquillo aka DJ GQ
