The Depot at Union City

The Depot at Union City Gatherin' together just like in the Good Ol' Days In the early 1900's, Union City was much more than just this one building and a few houses, as it is today.

In the fall of 2022, God put it on our hearts to buy this beautiful old property and turn it into a place where folks could once again gather just like in the good ol' days. During the Civil War, the Union Army camped at this area (which is only about 10 miles south of Wilson Creek National Battlefield). There was a blacksmith shop, hotel, school, doctor and more. Reportedly, this historic buildin

g was originally built to be a train station, but when they decided to move the railway, it became a general store and post office. Over the past century, it has served as everything from a feed store to a motorcycle shop, a gun store and a church fellowship hall. Other than a few memories passed down through the generations, Union City has all but been lost to time. Our prayer is that we can once again offer a place for people to come and gather to celebrate life events and special occasions. We also will offer various ministry opportunities for the spread of the gospel and celebration of our Lord, Jesus Christ. He is the only reason any of this is possible and we are blessed to serve Him through the revitalization of this historic property.

Do you know what I love most about this Blessing Box? Sure, it's a beautiful piece of furniture. It sits so lovely on the front porch of The Depot at Union City, as if it had always been there. It supplies food for numerous families in the community each week, but even that's not my favorite part.

What I love most about it is knowing that each person who opens this box looking for something to fill their hunger, to meet their need, is met with the one thing they may not even know they need the most... The word of God!

THANK YOU to everyone who donated gently used clothing for the Motel Moms ministry!! Because of your heart to help others, next Friday we will be able to present over 40 bags of like-new clothes to families in great need!
