One of the sweetest parts of this vow renewal was creating a new sand ceremony for the whole family.

The couple had poured sand together when they were first married, so this time we brought their daughters into the ceremony too. All four family members chose their favorite color, and each one became a different part of their family tree: the roots, the water, the blossoms, and the sheltering canopy.

It was personal, colorful, and such a meaningful way to celebrate how a marriage between two people grew into a family of four, continuing their story one layer at a time.

These are the containers that held each of their colors. Key Lime, Ocean Blue, Wedding Pink, and Mermaid Turquoise... all from Sandsational Sparkle.

Sometimes my office is at 10,600 feet.

Today, with the spectacular Twin Lakes spread out below us, I had the honor of marrying David and Natalia in one of Montana's most breathtaking settings. Surrounded by family, fresh mountain air, and incredible views, they promised a lifetime of love, friendship, and adventure together.

The day held one more surprise. Just after the ceremony, while we were taking family photographs, a curious mountain goat wandered over the ridge to see what all the excitement was about. It stood quietly watching the celebration for a few moments before continuing on its way, giving everyone a memory they'll be talking about for years.

Congratulations, David and Natalia! Thank you for inviting me to be part of such a beautiful day. Wishing you a lifetime of joy, laughter, and many more adventures together.

Some weddings are beautiful because of the setting.
Some are beautiful because of the people.
Every once in a while, you experience one that is both.

This sweet family traveled to the Beartooth Mountains to elope out on a tiny peninsula at Beartooth Lake, with Beartooth Butte standing watch in the distance as the sun slipped toward the horizon.

Reaching the ceremony site was part of the adventure. We crossed a mountain stream, followed game trails through tall shrub, and hiked nearly half a mile to reach a place that felt as though it had been waiting just for them.

While the bride changed into her wedding dress beside the lake, we all paused and took in the quiet beauty of one of Montana's most remarkable places.

Their ceremony wasn't simply about a bride and groom becoming husband and wife. It was about a family becoming whole. Their two young sons took part in a special Tie-the-Knot unity ceremony, helping create a symbol of the new family they were building together.

Their photographer, Albert, even traveled from California for the adventure, proving that some wedding days are worth every mile.
Congratulations to the Crow family. May your Crow's Nest always be filled with adventure, laughter, healing, and love. ❤️

Some weddings require nothing more than a short drive across town. Others take you to 10,947 feet.

On the way back down from atop Beartooth Pass, the mountain put on quite a show. We drove between towering snow walls, saw the first of the alpine wildflowers, drifted through clouds, and then rounded a corner to find an entire herd of mountain goats grazing across the tundra.

We counted 24 goats, including six adorable little kids.

What a joy it was to officiate David and Kayle's wedding this weekend at St. Olaf Lutheran Church near Red Lodge.

Not only was it a beautiful celebration of love, faith, and family, but it also checked off one of my officiant bucket-list locations. There is something truly special about standing on those church grounds, surrounded by the beauty of Montana, and helping two people begin the next chapter of their lives together.

One of my favorite moments was watching their blended family come together during the ceremony, a reminder that marriage isn't just the joining of two people, but often the joining of many hearts.

One of the things I love most about officiating weddings in Montana is that every ceremony seems to come with its own little adventure.

I just finished a rehearsal for a beautiful couple at St. Olaf Lutheran Church near Red Lodge, and I have to say… I’ve wanted to officiate at this little country church for a very long time. It is absolutely peaceful and beautiful out there, surrounded by wide-open skies and rolling ranch land.

And of course, when you’re out in the middle of Montana country, sometimes you also run into unexpected moments that make you smile. This day it was this absolutely adorable sheepdog out in the pasture keeping watch over the lambs and their mamas like it was the most important job in the world.

Moments like this remind me how lucky I am to do what I do and to witness love stories unfolding in some of the most beautiful places imaginable.

Big Sky Country truly has a soul all its own. ❤️
