Susanna Gaunt is coming to The Edge Gallery with "(Re)Collect"

From the desk of Tina Appleby: Artist Susanna Gaunt is an award-winning mixed-media installation artist and instructor living in Duluth. Her creations are inspired by historic curiosity cabinets, natural history museums, and natural specimen collections of her own. The two- and three-dimensional works in mediums of paper, embroidery, photography and collage are interactive, and sometimes even participatory for the viewer. Gallery guests for this show may be invited to open drawers, turn on light boxes … answer prompts … flip over seed-like sculptures… “Aiming to blur the lines between observer and the observed, I impose unexpected connections between humans and nonhumans to create works that invite curiosity and reflection," Gaunt explains. “…. The human condition (is analyzed) through a scientific and philosophical lens.”

Artist Reception - September 3rd from 5-7pm.
Exhibit Dates: September 3-26
Gallery Hours: Thursday-Saturday, 10am-4pm
