The Arts Council of Big Sky is Big Sky's premier non-profit cultural organization. The concert stage is located in the Big Sky Town Center on Ousel Falls Road.

At various events throughout the year, the ACBS provides artistic opportunities for visitors, tourists, residents, children, and artists. In the summer the sounds of Big Sky come alive with Music in the Mountains at the newly constructed Center Stage at Town Center Park, one of the most beautiful venues in the state for outdoor music. We host a free concert every Thursday evening at the Center Sta

ge during July and August, featuring a variety of national touring musicians performing in a truly spectacular setting.

METAL IN THE MOUNTAINS IS THIS THURSDAY!

We’re closing out the summer with The Iron Maidens, the world’s only all-female tribute to Iron Maiden, with local metal legends Scavenger kicking things off.

And we’re getting into the spirit with a Heavy Metal Outfit Contest. Mohawks, leather, denim, band tees, studs, chains, full metal looks... you know what to do.

We’ll be looking for the best dressed in the crowd, and the winner will take home a Music in the Mountains prize package!

So show up and show out this Thursday. We want to see your best metal look!

This post holds a whole lot of summer. 💛

As we head into Music in the Mountains tonight, we’re looking back at all the Thursdays spent on the lawn and, more importantly, all the people who make them happen.

Without Piper (our lovely intern), Erica & Tamara, there would be no barricades, merch tents, sponsor tents… and probably a lot less glitter. ✨ These three are the girl power behind setup every single week. They haul, build, sell merch, apply glitter and somehow keep the whole thing moving.

Without Brian, Katie, Bex, Jesine, Brodie and our incredible volunteers, there would be no show, no fundraising and no sponsors helping keep these concerts free.

Without Rebecca, Shannon, Wilson & Cicada, there would be no free art for kids each Thursday. 🎨

Without Kate & Olive (our other lovely intern), we wouldn’t have all these epic photos and videos to remember the summer by. 📷

Without Jereco, there would be no lights or sound. 🔊

Without Saddled Peak Security & Vibe Squad, there might be trouble… and definitely some bad vibes.

Without our sponsors, and Community Nonprofits, this whole series simply wouldn’t be possible.

Without our food and drink vendors, we’d all be very hungry and very thirsty.

And without the bands on stage and YOU out there on the lawn, well… it would be a pretty terrible concert.

We think you get the point.

Music in the Mountains takes a whole lot of people, hands, heart and community to pull off every Thursday - and what a summer it has been.

Can’t believe we’re already at the end of the season!! This week is the last Music in the Mountains before Metal in the Mountains next week.

We’re welcoming Logan Liebert and the Light Blue to kick off the evening, followed by Armchair Boogie for a night of bluegrass, jamgrass, roots, and plenty of live music at Len Hill Park!

Fall art registration is open! 🎨

A new season of classes is here at the Big Sky Center for the Arts, with plenty of opportunities to learn something new, get creative, and make something with your hands.

This season brings new 5- and 10-week pottery classes, stained glass, multi-day knitting, crochet and watercolor sessions, plus printmaking, sewing, mending and more.

For younger artists, we’re also offering Elementary ARTventures and Middle & High School Pottery.

Whether you’re trying something for the first time or looking to build on a skill you already love, there’s something waiting for you.
