Due to lack of interest and commitment the Fair Board has decided to cancel the Knox County Fair demolition derby this year. With low car counts, bring unhappy fans, and in return brings no money. In the demolition derby world there are three sides, the driving, watching, and promoting/putting the money out. We have seen all three sides. They didn't say there wouldn't ever be another but there has to be commitment, and there just wasn't this year. We posted that drivers needed to pre-register to prove to the fair that there would be cars and that didn't happen, there was only 1. Yes it's uncommon to pre-enter for a fair show, but to prove commitment that's what needed to happen.
