The inaugural episode for this season of Raising Your Inner Voice is out.

My first guest was detained for two months. Half of that time at Plymouth Detention Center here in Massachusetts. Two months of not knowing when it would end. Two months of waiting in a situation entirely outside his control.

What held him together during that time was his faith.

My second wedding of last weekend took me closer to home, to a local winery tucked down a quiet country road, surrounded by the colors of October! Scott and Kat were married on Sunday at WillowsAwake Winery, which was the perfect setting for the start of their new lives together! From cowboy hats and a canine ring bearer named Tuna, to a candlelit dinner and guests wrapped in cozy blankets - their day was carefully curated to celebrate their love alongside their favorite people! I work with the best couples (see the note they left me). Friday night, I was at Smith Barn on the Brooksby Farm property in Peabody.

There's something about that place. I've been there a couple times this summer. The history in the wood. The beauty around it. And on September 11th... the American flag carrying a weight that did not need any words.

And then the evening did what weddings do. It found its own rhythm and just... happened.

Somewhere toward the end of the evening a college student made a request. She was supposed to be at a Fetty Wap show at UMass. Couldn't make it because she loved the bride and groom so much.

I do what I naturally do = brought Fetty Wap to Smith Barn instead.

The reaction on that dance floor was unforgettable. The crowd went NUTS.

Grateful to the Felton-Smith Historic Site for keeping that property alive and open for nights like this one.

Last week at Blue Ocean Event Center in Salisbury... overlooking the Atlantic... I had the privilege of being part of an indigenous wedding celebration. Many guests were in awe of the ocean views since they traveled a distance to attend. Many vendors were in awe of the traditions incorporated.

The live musicianship. The culture. The dancing. The ocean outside. All of it was meaningful.

And then at the very end of the night, only Larry & Reina were left on the dance floor .

An impromptu intimate moment. Danielle from Blue Ocean dimmed the lights down. Everyone else gone.

I quietly set the song and stepped out.

That moment belonged to them. Not to me. Not to anyone else in that building.

There is something about knowing when to leave the room that feels like its own kind of special magic. To the couple. And honestly... to each of us.

What a night. What a privilege.
