Hypocrisy of the Republican Party puts Biden’s CLIMATE and Economic progress in jeopardy!

“The South and Midwest are leading the nation in the number of new projects, which include a cluster of solar manufacturing facilities, electric vehicle plants, battery gigafactories, in an area stretching from Michigan to Georgia now dubbed the “battery belt.”

Republican-held congressional districts are reaping the greatest benefits, accounting for 18 of the top 20 districts for clean energy investments, according to the report. It’s ironic that the law passed without a single Republican vote; two-thirds of Americans think the federal government should prioritize production of wind and solar power, but Republicans still remain largely unconcerned about the threat of climate change and less supportive of renewable energy.

Unfortunately, serious Congressional climate action just isn’t in the cards as long as the House remains controlled by Republicans, who have used their power to try to kill many of the law’s clean-energy provisions.

That points to a disconnect between the climate actions Americans support and their perception of Biden’s policies.”

The Inflation Reduction Act is the biggest investment in climate action in U.S. history, but it pales in comparison to the scale of action needed to keep global warming from reaching disastrous levels.

Can you imagine how Repulsive Republicans have literally exhibited their FASCIST revenge tactics any more simplistically than this⁉️ “The House’s new GOP majority is ignoring a key principle I learned during my five years working for Republicans on the House Oversight Committee: Manage expectations. Its “make accusations first, get the facts never” approach to oversight is doomed to over-promise, under-deliver and fall flat with the vast majority of voters.

House Republicans begin with a massive credibility deficit. A recent Navigator Research poll found that only 16% of Americans think the GOP’s obsessive investigations are important. And the Pew Research Center found that 65% of U.S. adults believe Republicans will be overly focused on investigating the Biden administration.

It was obvious from these first two attempts at oversight that House Republicans have absolutely nothing. Their strained efforts to prove there is a “there” there are backfiring spectacularly and raising serious questions about the basic competence of Jordan and Comer.

The American people have no appetite for such taxpayer-financed witch hunts. Most of the voters who pulled the lever for Republicans in the midterm elections couldn’t care less about a member of the first family who doesn’t even serve in the government. They’re far more concerned about the economy and inflation.

“The MAGA jingoes are deeply detached from the ideas and ideals of the United States. Their philosophy is antithetical to the American creed, and is oppositional to the concept of freedom as an individual birthright. They prefer it be apportioned by race, birthright, gender and religion at the discretion of a political cadre that rules by decree and whim. They have become unmoored from the concept of America and the idea that sustains it.

The United States has fed, cured, clothed, liberated, educated and inspired more people than all of the world’s countries put together since the beginning of time. The American nation is deeply imperfect, while being more perfect than any experiment in governance and justice that has ever been attempted. American progress and the momentum towards justice are an unfolding event.

The struggle between its advancement and retreat are at the center of our politics and current crisis. There can be no certainty about what side will prevail, other than the comforting reality that America remains unbowed against its enemies and the forces of hate, violence and oppression.

The years ahead will see a great contest play out between a toxic extremism and traditional patriotism. Patriotism is about love and service. Extremism is a vessel for hatred, violence and death. Clearly: Americans chose DEMOCRACY over Republican FASCISM! Here’s why Fascism was destroyed in the 2022 election; Americans despise ‘former guy’ and what he is:

“So just what happened? It's pretty clear that general election voters punished Republican candidates they saw as too extreme -- on issues such as abortion and/or for being too closely tied to former President Donald Trump.

The ability for Democrats to defy expectations this year starts simply with whom Republicans nominated for statewide elections. Analysts, myself included, noted that Republicans seemed to have a candidate likability problem. Pre-election polling showed that Republicans in all the key races had negative net favorability ratings. Democrats in pretty much all the key races were better liked than their opponents.BH

The exit polls bear out Republicans' "candidate problem" in the 2022 midterms. In every Senate race (save Georgia) that Inside Elections had rated as a toss-up or only tilting toward a party before the election, more voters said the Republican candidate's views were too extreme than said the same for the Democratic candidate.
We see this in gubernatorial elections, as well. Republicans nominated 2020 election deniers for governor in a number of blue or swing states. None of them has been projected a winner, and only Republican Kari Lake of Arizona has any chance of winning.

Perhaps the lack of success by these GOP candidates shouldn't be a surprise given that some 60% of voters -- both in pre-election surveys and the exit polls -- believe Biden was legitimately elected.

Arguably, what truly made this midterm unique was abortion. Despite high inflation, only 31% of voters in the exit poll said it was the most important issue to their vote. A nearly identical percentage (27%) said abortion, and these voters overwhelmingly chose Democratic candidates for Congress.

When you put it all together, Biden and the Democrats appear to have done something others have tried -- and failed -- in previous midterms: They turned the election into a choice between two parties instead of the usual referendum on the president's party.”

President Joe Biden and the Democratic Party appear to have pulled off a midterm election for the record books. Democrats have retained the Senate and look likely to keep any net losses in the House in the single digits.
