The mother-son dance is one of the most emotional moments of a wedding reception. ❤️
Finding the perfect song isn't just about choosing a beautiful melody—it's about telling your story.
Maybe it's the song Mom used to sing when you were little.
Maybe it's a classic that reminds you of family road trips.
Or maybe... your story deserves a song that's never been heard before.
I recently came across ForeverSongs, a service that creates a completely personalized song based on your memories and relationship. You simply share your story, choose the style of music, and professional songwriters create a one-of-a-kind keepsake that can become your mother-son dance. The song is written from your memories, professionally produced, and delivered for your special day.
As a wedding officiant, I love seeing couples personalize every part of their celebration. Your ceremony tells your love story—why shouldn't your reception do the same?
Whether you choose a timeless classic or a custom-written song, pick something that celebrates the incredible bond between a mother and her son. I promise there won't be a dry eye in the room. 💙
🎵 If you could dedicate one song to your mom, what would it be? Share it in the comments!

Turn your story into a one-of-a-kind custom song, written and produced just for someone you love. As fast as 1 hour — love it or your money back.

💌 Can We Talk About Wedding RSVPs? 💌
One of the biggest frustrations I hear from couples isn't choosing flowers or seating charts... it's guests who don't RSVP—or worse, invite extra people who weren't included on the invitation. 😬
If you've received a wedding invitation, here's a little wedding etiquette reminder:
✅ Reply by the RSVP date. Couples can't finalize catering, seating charts, favors, or even their budget until they know who's attending.
✅ Only the people listed on the invitation are invited. If the envelope says "John & Jane Smith," it doesn't automatically include children, roommates, or a plus-one.
✅ Need to decline? That's okay! Couples would much rather know you can't make it than wonder if you'll show up.
For couples planning their wedding, here are a few ways to make this process easier:
💍 Include a clear RSVP deadline on your invitation.
💍 Use an online RSVP system that sends automatic reminders.
💍 Address invitations specifically to those who are invited.
💍 Add a polite note such as, "Due to venue capacity, we can only accommodate the guests listed on your invitation."
💍 If someone hasn't responded by the deadline, don't feel guilty about reaching out. A quick text or phone call can save a lot of last-minute stress.
Remember, every "yes" affects the catering bill, seating chart, rentals, favors, and sometimes hundreds of dollars in your wedding budget.
Let's help make wedding planning a little less stressful by being thoughtful guests. ❤️
Have you ever had someone RSVP at the last minute—or show up with unexpected guests? Share your story in the comments! 👇

🌸 Who says you need a traditional flower girl?
One of my favorite wedding trends is seeing couples throw tradition out the window and make their ceremony uniquely theirs!
Instead of a flower girl, why not consider:
🌼 Flower Grannies dancing down the aisle and stealing the show.
🌼 Flower Bros tossing petals with plenty of personality.
🌼 A favorite uncle, sibling, or lifelong friend.
🌼 Your kids or grandkids.
🌼 Even your dog wearing a floral collar and leading the way!
These unexpected moments often become the biggest smiles, the loudest laughs, and the most memorable photos of the entire ceremony.
Your wedding doesn't have to follow a rulebook. It should reflect your personalities, your relationships, and your love story.
As a wedding officiant, I love helping couples create ceremonies that are as traditional—or as delightfully non-traditional—as they want. If having Flower Grannies, Flower Bros, or another creative aisle entrance makes you smile, then it's the perfect choice for your wedding.
💍 Your wedding. Your rules. Your story.
What creative alternative would you choose instead of a traditional flower girl?

How can you include a loved one who has passed away in your wedding ceremony? ❤️
One of the most meaningful moments I can include in a wedding ceremony isn't about the couple—it's about the people who helped shape their lives but can't be there to celebrate in person.
Before the ceremony begins, I can say:
"Before we begin, we take a moment to honor the loved ones who are no longer with us but whose spirits live on in our hearts. Though they are not here in person, we feel their presence in the love that surrounds us today. We cherish their memories and know they are celebrating with us in spirit as we begin this new chapter together."
If you'd like, we can also lovingly mention your parents, grandparents, siblings, or other family members by name.
There are many beautiful ways to honor those you've lost:
🤍 Reserve a special seat at the ceremony with their photograph, flowers, or a treasured keepsake.
🤍 Create a "Forever in Our Hearts" remembrance table at your reception featuring photos of loved ones.
🤍 Wear a piece of jewelry or carry a small memento that belonged to them.
🤍 Include their favorite song during your ceremony or reception.
🤍 Light a memorial candle in their honor.
Your wedding day is filled with love, and that love doesn't end because someone is no longer physically with us. Taking a moment to remember them can bring comfort, joy, and a beautiful reminder that the people we love are always part of our story.
As your wedding officiant, I'm honored to help create a ceremony that celebrates not only your future together but also the family, love, and memories that brought you to this moment.
💍 Looking for a personalized wedding ceremony in Pennsylvania or the Lehigh Valley? I'd be honored to help you create a ceremony that reflects your unique love story—and honors the people who will always hold a place in your hearts.

Do you really want a wedding... or do you really want a marriage? ❤️
Gary & Tina called me just six weeks before their wedding.
They chose a free public rose garden for their ceremony, invited a small group of family and close friends, and afterward planned to head home, fire up the grill, and celebrate with hamburgers and hot dogs.
Why?
Because to them, the day wasn't about centerpieces, chair covers, or extravagant receptions.
It was about becoming husband and wife.
Today, I read a post from a bride who had been planning her wedding for two years. Three weeks before the big day, she was so overwhelmed by the stress that she wanted to cancel everything.
It made me stop and think...
At the end of the day, if your goal is to be married, all you truly need is:
💍 You.
💍 Your fiancé.
💍 An officiant.
💍 A marriage license.
Everything else is optional.
Don't get me wrong—I love beautiful weddings, elegant venues, and unforgettable celebrations. They can be amazing! But don't let the pressure of creating the "perfect wedding" overshadow the reason you're getting married in the first place.
Whether you're planning an intimate elopement, a backyard wedding, a park ceremony, or a grand ballroom celebration, remember that the most important part of the day is the promise you make to one another.
The wedding lasts a day. The marriage is meant to last a lifetime.

💍 Choosing your wedding officiant is about more than finding someone to pronounce you married—it's about finding someone who can tell your love story.

Look for an officiant who takes the time to get to know you, listens to your vision, communicates well, and creates a ceremony that reflects your personalities and values. Your ceremony is the heart of your wedding day, so don't settle for a one-size-fits-all script.

For me, every ceremony is thoughtfully personalized because your love story deserves to be told your way.

✨ What is the one thing you want your guests to remember most about your ceremony?

20 Years. Thousands of Memories. Countless "I Do's." ❤️
Today I'm celebrating 20 years as a wedding officiant! 🎉
On July 10, 2006, I was ordained, and since then I've had the incredible privilege of standing beside couples on one of the most important days of their lives. For two decades, I've laughed with you, cried with you, calmed nervous brides and grooms, dodged raindrops, included beloved dogs in ceremonies, performed handfastings, ring warmings, love time capsules, and created ceremonies that are as unique as the couples saying "I do."
One thing I've learned after 20 years is this:
Your ceremony should never feel like it was written for someone else.
It should tell your story.
When couples begin searching, they often ask:
💍 Who is the best wedding officiant in the Lehigh Valley?
💍 How much does a wedding officiant cost in Pennsylvania?
💍 Do we really need a rehearsal?
💍 Should our officiant attend the rehearsal?
💍 Can our officiant help us write our own vows?
💍 Can our dog be part of our wedding ceremony?
💍 What are unique wedding ceremony ideas?
💍 How do we personalize our ceremony?
💍 How long should a wedding ceremony be?
💍 What happens if our officiant gets sick?
💍 What's the difference between a generic ceremony and one that's completely personalized?
💍 What should we ask before hiring a wedding officiant?
💍 How far in advance should we book our officiant?
These are all great questions—and they're conversations I have with my couples every day.
For me, being an officiant has never been about simply showing up to pronounce you married. It's about getting to know you, learning your story, helping you write meaningful vows if you'd like, guiding you through the rehearsal, and creating a ceremony that your guests will still be talking about long after the reception ends.
After 20 years, I still believe every couple deserves a ceremony that feels authentic, heartfelt, and unforgettable.
To every couple who trusted me with your wedding day...thank you. It has truly been the honor of a lifetime, and I can't wait to see what the next chapter brings.
Here's to many more years of celebrating love.
