Countinghouse is a family owned event center located in the heart of downtown Bethel, Ohio in the old bank. The First National Bank of Bethel, Ohio, was established on January 1, 1900, with charter number 6529. Located on the northwest corner of Plane and Union streets in the early 1900s, it was a central financial institution for the area. The institution operated under its original name until changing to The First National Bank of Clermont County on March 20, 1974, after acquiring The Amelia State Bank. before merging in 1980 with Society National Bank of Cleveland (17534) in Cleveland, OH. Finally in 1996, the institution name changed to KeyBank National Association.

So why Scrooge & Marley at Countinghouse??? Good question.
Scrooge and Marley’s counting house, from Charles Dickens' A Christmas Carol, lending office in London’s bustling financial district. A place for accounting, booking, and lending practices like the early banks provided.
