Sometimes the best song requests take a little teamwork. 😂

First, I couldn’t hear her. Then, when I finally figured out the song, I asked who sang it
 and got a shrug. đŸ€·â€â™€ïž

But we figured it out: “Good Old Days” by Macklemore & Kesha.

And seeing her singing and dancing with her friends made the whole interaction worth it. ❀

The funny thing about a song called “Good Old Days” is that you don’t always realize you’re living them until they’re over.

Something tells me these kids are going to remember nights like this for a long time. đŸ„č

One of my favorite things about DJing is watching that exact moment when a crowd figures out where I’m taking them. The anticipation, the recognition, and then EVERYBODY losing their minds.

I don’t know what it is about high school girls and a good country heartbreak song, but they will sing it like they personally inspired every single lyric. 😂

The second “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” came on, these girls knew EXACTLY what to do.

And honestly? This is what I love about DJing homecomings. Sometimes all it takes is the right song, the right group of friends, and absolutely ZERO concern for how loud you’re singing.

These are the moments they’ll remember. ❀

The kind of night where nobody’s worried about looking cool. They’re just singing too loud, dancing with their friends, grabbing the camera, and completely living in the moment.

Years from now, they probably won’t remember every song I played.

But they’ll remember how this night felt. 🎉

That’s the whole point.

This is why I love homecoming. You can plan the song, but you can’t plan two dudes deciding it’s time to recreate Pride Rock in the middle of the dance floor.

And somehow
 it made the drop hit even harder.

And just like that, my camera was no longer my camera.

Honestly, this is exactly what I want homecoming to feel like. The night isn’t about me. It’s theirs. I’m just there to give them the music, the energy, and the space to make moments like this happen.

So when he asked if he could grab the 360 and take it straight into the middle of the dance floor while everyone screamed “She Wouldn’t Be Gone” by Blake Shelton


I knew that camera was exactly where it needed to be. 😂

Sometimes the best moments are the ones you couldn’t plan if you tried.

POV: I brought a 360 camera to homecoming and apparently accidentally opened auditions for the lead role 😂

It started with one main character
and then the whole cast showed up.

Honestly, this is exactly why I love bringing the camera out. Give people a song they know, put a camera in front of them, and suddenly we’re filming a music video in the middle of homecoming.

I went to the John Summit show last night as many of you probably noticed. When I was scrolling Facebook before the show, I saw that Kevin Lighty made a post that he was going to also be at the show!

If you’re in the central Illinois area
you know Kevin is the man! Keeping us updated on the weather
and honestly, as much as we don’t want storms to hit us
it’s fun watching his storm chasing and updates.

My wife and I live for a good stormy night with Kevin and Jacob Dickey on WCIA News

We particular love when Kevin and Jacob get a little snarky with each other 😂 It keeps us very entertained during stormy nights seeing who is out chasing and who is in the studio and hearing their commentary/updates.

There were so many people at the show that I didn’t think I would see Kevin, but what do you know
I ran into him very soon after arriving! This really kicked off my night in the best way and was one of my favorite parts.
