I had the pleasure of working at Emerald Acres in Altamont last weekend for John and Kellie’s beautiful western-inspired wedding and reception. One of my favorite details was the story behind their color palette. Years ago, John purchased a jacket with turquoise accents, and that jacket became the inspiration for the entire reception design. It all came together perfectly with white tablecloths, terracotta table runners, wood charger plates, turquoise napkins, our wood hexagon centerpieces featuring a simple candle, and brown vases filled with pampas grass, all set atop cowhide rounds. It created the perfect atmosphere for such a fun evening.
This crowd loved to line dance and two-step, and it was so much fun watching everyone out on the dance floor. But the highlight of the night had to be the surprise performance by Kellie’s mom, sister, and cousin. They recreated the “Super Trouper” scene from Mamma Mia! after Kellie had mentioned several years ago how fun it would be if they actually did it. She had no idea it was coming, and it made for such a memorable moment!
I didn’t know John, Kellie, or their family before this wedding, but thanks to a referral, they reached out to me, and I had the privilege of helping bring everything together. One comment from Kellie’s mom really stuck with me. She created all of the beautiful florals herself, but she told me she had only purchased one décor item for the entire wedding—a special piece for the head table. She was so thankful that she didn’t have to worry about everything else.
When you’re planning a wedding, there’s already so much on your plate. Purchasing décor, storing it, hauling it to the venue, unpacking and decorating, then packing it all back up afterward, hauling it home, and figuring out what to do with it once the wedding is over can be completely overwhelming. Even for someone who was already investing so much time and talent into creating the florals, being able to rent the rest of the décor removed a huge amount of stress.
If I can take that burden off your shoulders, I’d truly love to help. We have a wide variety of décor rentals for weddings of every size and style, along with personalized planning, coordinating, and decorating services to make your day as stress-free as possible.
It was such a pleasure working at Emerald Acres and with the wonderful ladies there. It’s a beautifully designed venue that is both functional and welcoming, and I’m already looking forward to the next opportunity to be back.
Congratulations again to John and Kellie! Thank you for allowing me to be a small part of such a beautiful celebration. I wish you both a lifetime of love, laughter, and many more dances together!
