As we reflect on our recent Juneteenth Celebration at the Brazilian Room, we're filled with gratitude for our vibrant community. The Freedom Forward Wish Room installation in the Brazilian Room's Dressing Room was a beacon of hope, inspiring our guests to envision a brighter tomorrow.

After a successful career as Chief of Pediatric Cardiology at Children's Hospital Oakland, Chef Chris chose a new path—pursuing his lifelong love of pastry and culinary arts. His journey took him from the California Culinary Academy to the Culinary Institute of America in Napa, and ultimately to Paris, where he trained in classic French pastry before returning to the Bay Area to lead Culinary Excellence.

Today, the team is known for clean, classic French-inspired, and delicious cuisine, along with a full-service approach that helps couples feel like family from planning through the last dance.

As a certified Green Business, Culinary Excellence shares the Brazilian Room and East Bay Regional Park District's commitment to sustainability through reusable service ware, responsible waste management, and sourcing from local farmers and vendors whenever possible.

We would like to invite all interested caterers to submit a proposal to join the Approved Caterer List for East Bay Regional Park District’s reservable facilities, including the Brazilian Room, Temescal Beach House, Fern Cottage, and MLK Shoreline Center.
