Our company has five vehicles on the road daily, with at least three to four running every single day. 🛬 Runway delays?
Those are behind us!
Newark International Airport (EWR), has three landing runways, two were under emergency construction for about six weeks, but that work was completed two weeks ago. Since then, there have been no runway-related delays affecting inbound flights.

In fact, around Memorial Day, when the runway work was underway, the airport made a strategic decision to cancel over 30% of incoming and outgoing flights to avoid further compounding the problem. Believe it or not, this actually helped reduce chaos — and since then, we’ve seen fewer delays and cancellations overall.

🌦️ Current delays?
What we’re seeing now is mainly due to weather conditions or mechanical issues with individual planes, not airport infrastructure or air traffic control.

📢 There’s a lot of misinformation floating around. But when you’re at the airport daily, speaking with travelers, staff, and other transportation professionals, you get a clear picture. If someone says delays are due to the runways, it’s just not accurate anymore.

Please be advised;
Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) is scheduled to conduct a routine emergency response exercise on the morning of Saturday, June 28, 2025, between 7:30 a.m. and 1 p.m..
Key details about the exercise:
It is a practice emergency response exercise designed to test the airport's emergency plan for mutual aid response.
It is a routine exercise conducted regularly throughout the year at Newark and other Port Authority airports.
Airport operations will not be affected by the exercise.
You may see simulated smoke and emergency vehicles near the airport as part of the exercise, so do not be alarmed.
Personnel from the Port Authority Police Department, civilian staff, and other emergency response organizations will participate.
These exercises are conducted in a remote area of the airfield and will not interfere with flights.

Heads-up for all travelers (Personal and Business) As of Friday, May 23, 2025
Newark International Airport (EWR),
has canceled approximately 40% of incoming and outgoing flights due to ongoing runway construction.
Of the airport’s three runways, two are currently under construction and are expected to reopen by early July, hopefully even sooner !

Here’s the good news:
✅ Outbound flights are operating normally. Aside from the usual weather or mechanical delays, most departures are running on time.
⚠️ Inbound flights are where the cutbacks are hitting. This is the area most affected by cancellations.

Over the past several days, Newark International Airport (EWR) has felt like a ghost town, easy in, easy out, little traffic, and very light crowds. While that’s not ideal for business all around, it’s been surprisingly stress-free for travelers.

If you’re booking a flight through Newark and find an option that works for you, go for it with confidence. Don’t let rumors or panic posts sway your decision.
