ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Homegrown & Handmade

Lori is an avid gardener and passionate pollinator advocate who specializes in creating habitats that support butterflies, bees, and other essential pollinators. By growing host plants and nectar-rich flowers, she helps create healthy ecosystems where pollinators can thrive.

Her love of pollinator gardening and flower preservation naturally evolved into botanical art and jewelry making. Every piece she creates contains real flowers, botanicals, or other organic elements that have been carefully preserved. Most of the materials are grown in her own garden, while others are responsibly foraged, gifted, or thoughtfully sourced to expand her creative possibilities.

From seed to finished piece, each creation can take months to complete. Because every flower is unique, no two pieces are ever exactly alike. The subtle variations and natural imperfections found in each design are part of their beauty and reflect the authenticity of nature itself.

Lori is committed to quality craftsmanship, using jewelry-grade resin and lead- and nickel-free findings. Her stainless steel chains are durable and an excellent option for those with metal sensitivities.

ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: KendraWoodArt

Kendra is a mixed media artist based in Shaker Heights, creating sculptural work from found objects for over twelve years. Her practice is rooted in reuse and transformation—collecting discarded, overlooked, or recycled materials and reassembling them into new forms to give them a new life as a Rebot. She’s drawn to the nostalgia embedded in these objects and the memories and joy they bring to those who see them.

Working intuitively, Kendra allows materials to guide the process. She always start with the body and add items to complete the piece. Her Rebots invite patrons to slow down, look closely, and reconsider what is worth preserving.

ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Nature’s Treasures

A Message from Nature’s Treasures:

I’ve always been drawn to things with a story
— a piece of sea glass worn smooth by years of tide, a spoon that sat in someone’s grandmother’s kitchen drawer for decades, a stone pulled straight from the earth. That’s really where Nature’s Treasures Jewelry started: not with a plan to run a business, but with a habit of picking things up and wondering what they could become.

These days, I create handmade jewelry from a mix of materials that might not seem like they belong together at first - crystals and stones I cut and drill myself, pearls, shell, and coral gathered from the sea, antique silverware I rescue and reshape, and every so often something completely unexpected, like a mahjong tile or a tiny Barbie shoe. Half the fun is figuring out how something was never meant to be jewelry can become exactly that.

Beyond the everyday earrings, necklaces, and bracelets, I make tie tacks, pins, and pens - smaller, often overlooked pieces that I love giving a second life. I silversmith, solder, and work in filigree, and every once in a while I’ll take on a piece of chainmail just for the challenge of it. Because I make everything by hand, no two pieces come out quite the same.
What looks like a small imperfection to me is usually the thing that makes a piece one of a kind.

I don’t keep to one style or one material - if it catches my eye and I think I can do something interesting with it, it usually ends up on my workbench eventually. So if you’re looking through my shop and don’t see quite what you had in mind, please reach out. I love custom work, and I’m always happy to adjust a piece to fit your size, your taste, or the person you’re making it for.

ARTS FEST PERFORMER SPOTLIGHT: MorrisonDance

Since 1997, MorrisonDance has integrated the art of movement within cross-disciplinary collaborations, continuously challenging the traditional understanding of dance. The small non-profit dance company gets its unique strength from performers trained in a variety of movement arts who are willing to stretch their abilities through presentations in alternative venues and through experimental presentations combining nature, technology, and other artistic disciplines.

MorrisonDance works to create viscerally aesthetic performances, and has developed unique creative partnerships with organizations such as BrainMaster, NASA, Ingenuity Cleveland, and others, allowing exploration of new marriages between art and science. With over 50 original creations, MorrisonDance has been honored and supported by the Robert Rauschenberg foundation, Ohio Arts Council, Cuyahoga Arts and Culture, the Puffin Foundation, Neighborhood Connections, and OhioDance. This is no ordinary dance company.

Their mission is to inspire and cultivate public awareness of the art of dance through performances and cross-disciplinary collaborations. To provide, promote, and participate in educational and outreach programs that increase the awareness of dance and that encourage community cultural and artistic endeavors; to research and develop integrated and cross-disciplinary teaching and presentation methods for dance; and to create opportunities for artists and performers of various media, augmenting the accessibility of dance as a performing art.

ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Summer Holmes

Summer Holmes is a multi-media artist working primarily in mosaics. She creates 2D wall art, as well as functional home decor and jewelry. In addition to traditional materials such as tile and stained glass, she uses repurposed, upcycled, and found objects, such as ceramic dishes, vintage costume jewelry, and buttons. She also creates and assembles mosaic kits for beginners. She has two kinds: one with buttons on a canvas board for children and one with tiles and grout on a wooden base. The stencils and wooden bases were originally drawn by Summer and are cut to her specifications.

Summer’s goal is to create artwork that is whimsical and playful, with a richness of color and texture.

ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: The Heart’s Canvas

Jackie is a full-time fine artist based in Bowling Green, Ohio, working primarily in heavy palette knife impasto acrylic on cradleboard. Her work centers on birds, gardens, and water’s-edge landscapes — pieces that invite people to slow down and notice texture, movement, and color up close. She paints across several ongoing collections: Wings, Garden, Water’s Edge, and Landscape.

Jackie retired from a career in graphic design, art direction, and teaching Visual Communications Technology in 2022 to paint full-time, and completed the Milan Art Institute Mastery Program in 2023. She split her studio time between a home studio in Bowling Green and a second gallery/classroom studio in a former elementary school in Port Clinton, right on Lake
Erie. She does about eight juried art shows a season across Ohio and Indiana, with Berea, Medina, and Rocky River as some of her favorite Cleveland-area markets each year.

Jackie is excited to bring her Wings Collection to Berea this year, including a couple of brand-new heron pieces finished just this summer!

Papa Frank’s Workshop strives to deliver the highest quality items to give you years of service and create family heirlooms for other generations.

Products Include: Cutting Boards, Charcuterie Boards, Choose Slicers, Cooling Racks, Wine Racks, Cuttom Tables, and other requested items.

Each product is made from sustainable hardwoods, including: Cherry, Black Walnut, White wax, mapio. and ambrosia Maple. Other woods can be requested.

Each product has been created from hand picked sustainable hard woods. The design is created and processes include: cuttina. planning, and glued, then sanded four times, inspected and finished to produce the final item.

ARTS FEST VENDOR SPOTLIGHT: Thai It Up

Thai It Up Food Truck is owned by husband and wife duo, Beau and Steph, and is a mobile food unit serving fresh and authentic Thai food with a couple Chinese options all over Northeast Ohio. Beau moved to the states from Maha Sarakham, Thailand at the age of 16 and has been perfecting his craft of cooking since the age of 10. Stephanie, an Ohio native, holds a bachelor’s degree in business management and has both lived in and traveled to Thailand multiple times, calling it her “home away from home”. Each main dish found on their menu is made to order so you can be assured it will be both hot and full of flavor! Gluten-Free, Vegetarian and Vegan items can all be found on their menu, as well. Don’t forget to try their award-winning Crab Rangoon if you decide to stop by!
